Historical Mysteries
foreign history is one filled with great events tragic disasters amazing people who left their Mark and discoveries that changed the way that we look at the world but it's also a source of bafflement as many historical mysteries are yet to be solved despite the best efforts of our best scientists and historians number five living as an immigrant from a foreign country can be a daunting Prospect but for someone who's introverted and prefers their own company over that of others it can be downright unpleasant as was the case for 25 year old Lillian alley who immigrated to New York from Russia in 1918. Lillian didn't enjoy being in New York as she felt she was never really accepted by the people in the city and so her goal was to save up enough money to return home to Russia and in 1920 she thought she had reached her goal but then found out that despite working hard for two years she still couldn't afford passage back home on a steamer ship but Lillian wasn't about to be out done she decided that if she couldn't travel via a ship she would just walk home in the spring of 1927 she gathered what little possessions she had and set out to cover the 5 000 mile Journey first walking to Buffalo dressed in a skirt a shirt a scarf and a jacket she managed to cover 30 miles per day with precious little food and even less money and just an iron bar that she explained wasn't for protection from animals but for men before long she had made her way to Chicago not long after that she was seen in Minneapolis then Winnipeg and after passing through British Columbia she made it to the Yukon Overland Telegraph
