To My Darling
To My Darling, Hello! It’s been a while since we last wrote to each other, and as I sit down to write this letter, I find myself in tears with memories of you and the 1970’s. Images and history of you and of our time together, our laughter, our shared dreams. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed, You always hold a special place in my heart. You were a part of a chapter in my life that brought so much joy, and sometimes I feel as if I could close my eyes and be transported back to those happiest days. Darling Our days filled with laughter and the deepest love.

The Kisumu Massacre
Kisumu was an active tinderbox by the time Jomo Kenyatta was making his visit in 25th October 1969. From Oginga Odinga and Achieng Oneko’s resignation in 1966, Kenyatta had spared no effort in antagonizing and sidelining the Luo community in government. Kenya People’s Union (KPU) dawn raids had led to the arrests of several Luo party officials who were not only detained but lost their government posts. The prominent lawyer and MP aspirant Argwings Kodhek died in a mysterious car accident in January 1969 only for Tom Mboya, who was the darling of his people, to be gunned down in July of the same year. The Luo community was bitter and Kenyatta was about to throw the match that would turn the tinderbox into a roaring inferno.

Eclipsed by Time: A Forbidden Correspondence
Letter I: Lord Alistair to Lady GenevieveJune 14, 1685 My Dearest Genevieve, The ink upon this parchment trembles beneath my hand, for I write to you under the shroud of night, lest prying eyes betray the tenderness I harbor for you. The world deems our affection an abomination of circumstance, yet my heart is unyielding in its devotion. You are the light by which I chart my course, the whisper of serenity amidst the tempest of my existence.
