Civic and Global Engagement/Diversity/ Biblical Worldview Reflection

The current dynamics in the world have led to increased interconnections between civic and global engagements, especially for those individuals seeking to impact the world positively. This requires a deep understanding of core beliefs and values, especially those rooted in Biblical worldviews.

A Biblical worldview is a built framework of ideas and beliefs majorly on the Christian perspective on how an individual interprets the world and interacts with it. Biblical worldview consists of recognition of God and the sovereignty of God as a superpower over all aspects of life and how the living should adhere to His teachings. The University's teachings guide the students into nurturing a stronger relationship with God by immersing themselves in prayers, engaging with the Christian communities, and fully into God's word. While the school may have control and full guidance of students into its systems' Biblical worldview, it is required of the students to deepen their understanding by participating in communal Christian activities such as revivals and ministerial services.

My purpose as a believer and Christ follower is to glorify God and fulfill His purpose as by the scriptures and Biblical teachings. Aside from faith, my academic goals are to excel, row in my career, and prepare myself fully for future endeavors. My aspirations in life entail both my Christian teachings and academic excellence. I aspire to serve others in faith and my profession as a way of making positive impacts in my community while leading in living a purposeful life that shows the love of Christ. The influence of the Biblical worldview on these aspirations is its provision of a moral compass in making ethical decisions and prioritizing activities shaped by eternal values.

The Diversity at Liberty video culture is the way people live their daily lives. The differences among races globally can be endless; however, embracing diversity requires each to cultivate mutual respect, understanding, and a readiness to learn from one another's viewpoints. As written in Luke 1:27, we are all grown and made in the image and likeness of God; we will always grow differently in Christ each day. Additionally, God has commanded us to love each other the way He loves us in John 15:12-13 therefore, as Christians, we should be ready and willing to accommodate others and embrace the diversities in race and opinions.

My main learning is to appreciate the impact of the Biblical worldview on civic and global engagement. It has taught me the importance of aligning personal goals with Christ's teachings in life. I have learned the importance of embracing diversity in the world and working together to fulfill God's word.

Discussion 1: Training Champions for Christ

A clear and precise discussion on the training of champions for Christ needs a comprehensive understanding of Liberty University's mission and vision. The mission and vision of the university focus on training and equipping men and women who are Christian-centered with the skills, knowledge as well and values that can impact the world positively. The focus of the school, therefore, is not only to train its students and staff into academic excellence but also to grow and live their faith tangibility in Christianity. As the school aims to integrate faith and learning, the school aims at preparing the students to succeed in their chosen field but also for a purposeful life as it recognizes that all knowledge and skills come from God.

As a student, the University teachings on Christianity encourage us to interact with the world around us and impact it positively. The university also prepares us to apply Christ's teaching in improving our lives as well as in championing positivity in our environments. A crucial learning also is that through all our activities, we ought to be champions for Christ and lead by example in the way we conduct ourselves. Through cooperation and collective learning, we can continually encourage each other as a means of fulfilling the University's mission.

Discussion 2: Reflection on Course Goals

The goals of this course are enriching, as one of the objectives was to gain a deeper understanding of religion and the impacts of championing Christ in society. One of my achievements so far in this course is my ability to incorporate both my academics and my faith as a Christian. The course lectures, readings, and relevant assignments have enabled me to understand and apply the biblical theories and Christ's teachings in my daily doings. Critical thinking and analytical skills are other crucial goals that I have developed in the course. The various case studies and discussions assigned have been of great impact as these have enabled me to approach different problems from different perspectives while analyzing them critically and objectively.

Engaging in discussions with my classmates has improved my communication skills and collaboration as these discussions require us to share insights on the discussion topic and give feedback on one or more responses from other members or groups. I intend to continue applying the skills and knowledge I have gained. What I have learned so far has become a solid foundation for future growth and positive impacts on society.
