Who Will Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter Movie Have Ryan Gosling Play?

Ken, your favorite character, is traveling to a galaxy that is very far away.

The Star Wars movie starring Ryan Gosling is accelerating. Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling took the stage at a Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo, Japan, to formally reveal their upcoming new Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter.

The director of Deadpool & Wolverine hinted at the movie, saying, "There are a lot of rumors, some true, some not." "This is neither a sequel nor a precursor. It's a brand-new journey.

Levy's remarks support earlier rumors that the events of Star Wars: Starfighter occur five years after those of The Rise of Skywalker (2019). It is said that the story is set outside of the canon of Skywalkers. "Such a great story with great and original characters," Gosling said of the movie at the Tokyo Expo. "There is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Shawn."

The release date of the stand-alone Star Wars entry is May 28, 2027. For Star Wars fans, a release date is very important, even though it may seem far off. Taika Waititi, Patty Jenkins, and David Benioff & D.B. Weiss all had their potential Star Wars movies shelved in recent years. I hope that all of it is changed by Gosling and Levy. This September, the movie will go into production.

Star Wars: Starfighter: What Is It About?

As of right now, it's unknown if the upcoming movie is related to the 2001 video game of the same name. For the PlayStation 2, Star Wars: Starfighter was launched as a spacecraft shooter. In Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace (1999), Rhys Dallows, a member of the Naboo Royal Space Fighter Corps, is dispatched on a mission just prior to the Battle of Naboo.

According to reports, the movie is the latest installment in the timeline for Star Wars projects, and both Gosling and Levy characterize it as a stand-alone piece. However, the same elements of the game's plot might be adapted for the movie.

Who Will Star Wars: Starfighter Starring Ryan Gosling Play?

While Gosling's character still remains under wraps, this is not the first time that the Barbie's actor name has entered the conversation for a Star Wars role. In 2012, Gosling was first mentioned as the lead in the ninth Star Wars movie, despite the fact that the show often hires relative unknowns to establish them as stars. At the time, there were rumors that the actor would play Luke Skywalker's kid, while other sources suggested he would play a young Han Solo. A badly Photoshopped Gosling brandishing a lightsaber and sporting Anakin Skywalker's rattail was even featured in a peculiar 2013 GQ story. (The Internet seemed strange at the time.)

However, Gosling's participation in Star Wars was never revealed. Around the time when J.J. Abrams said he would be directing the next Star Wars movie, in early 2013, the actor said he intended to take a break from acting. The actor's representative then told HuffPost that the rumors of his possible appearance in Episode VII were "not true." Later, he portrayed another Harrison Ford persona from the next generation in Blade Runner 2049.

Gosling now appears poised to play another part reminiscent to Ford. For his standalone feature, Levy says adorable rogues are not out of the question. Simply put, he has no interest in reading any more Skywalker tales. Levy stated to Josh Horowitz on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast in August that "Star Wars films can only revisit the same section of the timeline so many times." "I am not interested in making a Star Wars film that is necessary for another film, nor do I want to make one that is redundant to others."

“I really wanted to craft something that felt organic to me in tone and characters,” Levy concluded. "There is undoubtedly the Force, a link to something greater than ourselves, and the potential for power that comes with that. To me, Star Wars embodies those themes along with visual pleasure and dream fulfillment.
