Some New Stuff, Some Old...

Don't worry, I'm still going to be continuing with my book reviews and with Why It's a Masterpiece. I've got something else up my sleeve though, something I want to test out. It's called 'The Big Book Review' and will come out every month.

If you remember my piece on Clive James' Reliable Essays and enjoyed it then you'll probably like this too. I split the book review into three parts because sometimes, I have more to say than I put on the Vocal page. Instead of overloading you though with my 3000-or-so word essays and ramblings, I've decided to release one each month. That may also give me some time to put my muddled brain into order. The article will be released at the end of each month.

Don't think it is going to be terribly academic; it will instead mostly just be me rambling on about thoughts and connecting dots - some of which you may not even agree with. This is less about earnings or reads or even top stories, but instead it is a way for me to gather my thoughts properly. When I read a text where I have tons and tons and tons of thoughts, I often need that to calm my brain.

The first book we are going to cover is "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman so if you want to take a look at it before the release of the article on Part 1 then go ahead. I would highly recommend it.

You can purchase it here:

This book has five parts and so, will take five months of articles to cover. Of course, there will be no shorter book review for this book therefore and so, there will be no rating out of five. Instead, it's just me diving in, rambling on and trying to make sense of things. I apologise if this isn't what you're interested in.

Another thing I may be releasing sporadically is a shorter article called Unpopular Opinion - I'm hoping for this one to be a bit shorter and concern the kind of opinions that perhaps other people don't think I hold or maybe are too scared to voice. These won't have a set schedule because I'm being perfectly honest, I need some time to flesh them out and think about them. Each article will be subtitled: An Unpopular Opinion so that you may view them accordingly.

Let's move on to what's continuing:

Book Reviews are here to stay of course. I could never let you go without a book review.

Why It's a Masterpiece continues to be written and revised. I've got some more surprises in that department that I am saving for when they come. They will explain themselves.

I'm hoping to give you more movie reviews as well. I think it's quite funny that I love film so much and I watch plenty, but I barely ever write any reviews on them. I'll try to do more - maybe once a month at least. But it'll be sporadic if I'm going to be honest.

(Also, if you have had the pain of meeting me in real life, you would have noticed I don't in fact, call them 'movies' or 'films'. Instead I call them 'pictures'. I don't know why this is. 'Film' is reserved for study. 'Movie' is for informal writing. But speaking? 'Pictures').

Sorry, I just thought that was quite a funny observation of myself.
