Days of Our Lives: Victoria Konefal explains her absence
Victoria Konefal has been portraying Ciara Brady on Days of Our Lives since 2017. Fans were disappointed when the character was "killed" when a car exploded in 2020. SOme may have thought that the powers that be simply wrote Ciara out of the storyline but that is not what happened. It turns out that it was Koenfal herself who wanted out of the NBC soap in order to spread her wings and try something new. Unfortunately, thanks to COVID the actress was not receiving any offers. She says she was blessed that DOOL came calling just as they promised and hired her back. It was at this time that Ciara was found and she has been with her husband Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) ever since.
There was a day and time when many soap actors knew they had a good thing and did not pursue other projects to the point that it took them off screen. Today, however, daytime actors often are juggling more than one job at a time. On the CBS soap, The Bold and the Beautiful Darrin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) and Katrina Bowden( Flo Fuller) have not been on screen in several months. Fans were concerned until Brad Bell the B&B executive producer stated that both actors were working on outside projects but were still very much a part of the show's family. Konefal's fans are happy that she has returned as Ciara and hope to see much more of her.
Konefal said she was grateful to the Days execs for calling her back and she is happy to be a part of the NBC soap. Her character is in big trouble right now and has no idea of the evil that has come her way. Ben and Ciara are in a front-burner storyline on Days of Our Lives where a possessed by the devil Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) wants control of their unborn child and is trying to seclude the couple from those who love them.
Days of Our Lives Super couple status
Ciara and Ben are being referred to as a super couple but they will never match the chemistry that was between Ciara's parents Bo Brady (Peter Reckel) and Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) who have been voted the best super couple of all time.
Marlena has plans for Ben and Ciara
Marlena found Ben and Ciara at the cabin and lied that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) had been beating her. She even showed them a bruise on her arm which probably came from the handcuffs she was wearing when Shawn Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) tried to apprehend her. Marlena went into a bedroom then morphed into John and began banging on the front door and cursing. Ben and Ciara were terrified but the real John was being hospitalized after barely surviving being chained in the DiMera crypt for several weeks. Ciara and Ben do not know this so they allowed Marlena to trick them into leaving Salem with her. It's not clear where they are headed but the truth about the possession will eventually come out.
The possession is almost over
In the Days of Our Lives winter preview, Ben and Ciara are standing facing Marlena with a terrified Doug and Julie in the background. The possessed shrink has a torch in each hand and Ben tells her that he will fight her with everything in him. It looks like they are at the Horton House and it is a pretty intense scene. Father Eric Brady is returning to Salem soon and he will probably be the one to rid Marlena of the devil. In the meantime, she will be taking Ben and Ciara for an unpredictable ride. Much to my surprise, I have kept a list of the films I‘ve seen this year. I daresay it isn’t complete. There will be films that snuck in on a late night in front of the TV that I would’ve forgotten to note. Or others, that I went to watch at the cinema, but then had a red wine and promptly forgotten about. But it’s not a bad approximation of the films I’ve seen this year. In total, there are 53 films listed, so an average of one a week and one for good luck.
