Top 5 Reasons Why Incidents Like What Happened To Dave Chappelle Will Subside
Top Five for Those With Drive
Audience members charging the stage and attacking the performer, will soon cease soon. After Dave Chappelle was assaulted on stage during his stand up routine, questions swirled about whether events like the Will Smith incident, when he slapped Chris Rock, will become commonplace. The answer is no. Here are the Top 5 Reasons Incidents Like What Happened To Dave Chappelle Will Subside.
5. Security Will be Extra Tight at Venues
With the knowledge of Chappelle’s run-in with an assailant, teams will take extra precautions in order to ensure the safety and security of the talent. While it may have been an oversight on the security team’s part the night of Chappelle’s attack, it will be clear in the future, other performers will be able to do their work without worrying about some rogue individual going after them with bare hands or a weapon.
The security personnel will beef up their tactics and strategies to prevent another occurrence like what happened with Chappelle. He can rest assured that his people will surround him and keep him safe.
4. Copycats Soon Die Out
Once the trend of crashing stages becomes passé, there will be no impetus for followers to go down the path that other attackers have gone. The whole thing will seem like a fraud against the mind.
The copycats will be deterred from making any false moves to achieve their ends (notoriety, reveling in their stupidity). Media outlets will have to make a concerted effort to avoid hyping the story and romanticizing what these cowards do though.
Over time, wannabe spotlight seekers will realize efforts to gain notoriety assaulting a celebrity will only land them in jail.
3. Even with Security, Most Performers can Protect Themselves
Though it is the role of security to protect the talent at all costs, most performers can pack a punch, or drop a kick. Chappelle said, “I’ve been doing this for 35 years. I just stomped a n***a backstage. I’ve always wanted to do that.”
When there are comedians, musicians, and other talent who tour the country and the world, it will be nearly impossible for every security detail to screen and clear everyone. That’s why performers should be able to defend themselves. Of course that shouldn’t be their main focus. They should be concerned with performing a great set about whether they will be violated.
2. The Business of Show Will be About Protection
It’s not show business, it’s the business of show. New methods, techniques, and tools will be implemented to generate more funds and to mitigate altercations. Just as other countries have adopted laws to protect the money, US performers will be able to earn their cash with attackers serving as an afterthought.
From the perspective of a comedian, actress or singer, it is possible to glean just how much of the industry will be boosted with new measures and tactics. There are so many programs, many will be able to cash in on the performers’ needs for security.
1. All of the Fans Will Band Together to Suppress Dangerous Actors
Concert-goers are not some mass of humanity, connected together like blobs of flesh and bone. They are individuals. People in mass don’t become a connected collective just because is being put on the stage. The ability for fanatics and supporters to stand as one doesn’t mean they can’t police themselves and improve the safety of the performer, and themselves. If individuals seek to have a good time, they should consider the selfish safety of others. To keep optimal safety levels, it is important for all involved to mind their own business, keep their angry hands to themselves, and enjoy the show.
