As many of you may know, quite a few blockbuster movies have very sneaky and well hidden treasures (or Easter Eggs as we in the film industry like to call them) in the movies. Some are so sneaky and well hidden that some of the online fans have to watch the movies in slow-motion or watch and listen very closely tens of times over in order to grab these treasures.

So grab your pirate costume or a nice big bowl of toffee popcorn because these Easter Eggs I'm about to show you are actually pretty sweet!

5. I AM Legend

2007 Blockbuster movie, I Am Legend, we see Will Smith's character, Robert Neville, scientist turn hero, when a deadly virus associated with measles kills 90% of the population and turns the remining 9% into "vampiric, albino, zombie-like, cannibalistic" mutants. These are called DarkSeekers. The remaining 1% are completely immune to the virus and these people are what the Darkseekers are preying on.

In a hunting scene in the usually-mesmorising Times Square we see a movie poster behind Will Smith advertising a film with a Batman v Superman crossover. Seeing as how this is a 2007 film and the epic Batman v Superman didn't get released until 2010, I find it highly unlikely as to how the directors could have known about this upcoming film.

4. The Matrix Reloaded

I, personally love these films. There's action, drama, romance in them but they all hold a brilliant storyline within them. In the origin film it plays the story of a master hacker known as 'Neo', when he is approached by Trinity, a beautiful yet mysterious woman who is looking for Neo. He is taken to the world known as The Matrix where he learns about the secrets of the world and how it was created. This movie really gets you thinking.

Throughout the film, there is one enemy that always pops up to say hello. Agent Smith. Known as the 'Agents', it their job to destroy and kill anyone that tries to overthrow and destroy the Matrix system.

The Matrix Reloaded (2003) / Highway Chase Scene / Biblical Number Plate

Typically in movies, the Directors and Production crew don't usually spend a lot of time with number plates on vehicles. This is not the case for The Matrix. It is obvious that director, Lana and Lilly Wachowski, put a lot of time and effort into the vehicle number plates. At the beginning of The Matrix Reloaded, Agent Smith's number plate reads; IS5416. This is a clever reference to the bible. Isaiah 54:16 which speaks "Behold, I have created the smith, who blows the fire of coals, and produces weapons for it's purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy."

As they say 1 is a chance, 2 is a coincidence... well, this couldn't be any any more true. Later on in the film, in the highway scene to be exact, we see a car chase between Trinity and Agent Smith (again!). Trinity's Cadillac number plate is DA203, which is a much more subtle reference to Daniel 2:03 which reads "I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means." Maybe the Directors felt very biblical at the time of production and script writing.

3. Man of Steel

Director Zack Snyder is now in charge of the Justice League, so he decided that Batman needed to be a bit older. He brought in Ben Affleck who superhero fans will remember played DareDevil in 2003 with Jennifer Garner (Elektra). In Man of Steel, Superman is fighting Zod when Zod causes a skyscraper to fall apart on top of Henry Cavill's Kryptonian hero. As Superman is making his way through the building cubicles, you can see probably one of the funniest Easter Eggs of all time. You can see a poster in the background which reads "Keep Calm and Call Batman". Even though Snyder didn't put the Egg in there himself, he certainly took the poster at its word.

2. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Although I have never seen this movie yet, it is safe to say that all the gags and jokes are craftily concealed in this 1 hour and 34 minute film. In the film, character Veronica Corningstone (played by Christina Applegate) visits a Mexican restaurant with her colleagues. The name of the restaurant is called 'Escupimos en su Alimento'. If you were to translate this from Spanish to English, it actually means "we spit in your food,". How this puts people off the restaurant I'll never know.

1. Batman Begins

In the final scenes of this 2005 DC classic, Batman begins, it sees Police Commissioner Jim Gordon reveal to Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman that a new criminal has surfaced. The Joker's calling cards thrilled fans, making it clear that the "clown prince of crime" would appear in the sequel. A closer look at this playing card shows that it was signed into evidence by an officer called J Kerr. Short for Joe Kerr, showing a subtle connection to the alias that the villain adopted over the years.
