The Young and the Restless spoilers: Michael Mealor might return

Kyle Abbott ( Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) are fan favorites on The Young and The Restless and viewers were disappointed when the actors simultaneously left the ABC soap. Fans felt cheated when the duo was married off-camera as everyone expected an on-screen wedding. Both recently reprised their roles showing up separately in Genoa City via video chat and now rumors are flying,

A few weeks back spoilers revealed that Y&R had sent out a casting call for a replacement for Summer but the same was not done for kyle. This led to speculation that Mealor was returning but King was not, Nothing has been confirmed one way or another so let's discuss what is known.

King and Mealor basically left the CBS soap for greener pastures but it appears only one of them has found a job opportunity. According to Soap Hub King is working on an untitled horror film but Mealor has not said anything about any other projects.

Michael Mealor may have a reason to return to Y&R

There was an article last year where Daily Soap Dish wrongly assumed Mealor had a new gig but no confirmation came. Fans of Y&R might recall that Mealor and King did a joint Podcast where they said they would not rule out returning as Kyle and Summer someday. In that interview, Michael alluded to the fact that he did not have a large nest egg stored away and needed to pay for his apartment.

Reading between the lines it sounds like the actor was saying that he needed to find work before his money ran out. Mealor has now been six months without a steady job so he might need The Young and the Restless as much as they need Kyle in Genoa City. If Mealor returns without King it's possible Skyle fans will be more receptive than they would with two new actors.

If Mealor does return as Kyle he might develop chemistry with a new actress and the fans could love them. If not. Kyle and Summer could leave Genoa City again. All of this speculation but it's all Y&R viewers have to go on for now. Kyle is certainly needed in Genoa City for his dad Jack Abbott ( Peter Bregman). Jack just found out his oldest son Keemo died and that he has a granddaughter named Allie (Kelsey Wang).

Jack spoke to Kyle on the video chat but things could be better if Kyle were home in Genoa City. Kyle could help his dad figure out the mystery of who sent him texts from Los Angeles. Those who watch The Young and the Restless have been concerned that Jabot cosmetics is not a part of the show anymore- If Kyle returns home he and Summer could run the Abbott family legacy together and some fans are hoping they might eventually have a child.

The Young and the Restless: The future is uncertain for Kyle

The Internet is filled with articles related to Kyle and Summer and it's clear their fans adore them. Neither King nor Mealor has made any recent comments about their status with The Young and the Restless but Skyle fans remain hopeful. Be on the lookout for updates related to Michael Mealor, Hunter King, and a possible recast for Summer Newman.

Viewers realize the options and that one, both, or neither actor could return or there could be one or two recasts. Skyle fans are hoping things will work in their favor and time will tell so stay tuned to The Young and Restless.
