The Young and the Restless: Rainn and River Ware portray Dominic Chancellor

The Young and the Restless: Trouble is brewing

Dominic Philip Newman-Abbott-Chancellor is now being portrayed by twin brothers (Rainn and River Ware). This child has been an enigma on The Young and the Restless for close to a year and it looks like he will remain front and center. His adoptive parents were married on New Year's Eve of 2020 and shortly after found out that neither of them were able to have a child of their own. Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) had scar tissue from falling down the steps after Max Raburn tripped her with a cord.

Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) had a sperm count too low to impregnate his wife so they decided to use Devon Hamilton's (Bryton James) sperm donation and Mariah Copeland (Cameron Grimes) as the surrogate. Mariah has been trying to heal from being kidnapped and locked in a room for the last months of her pregnancy. She is also attempting to distance herself from the baby that she nicknamed her sweet "Bowie."

Dominic's life will be filled with uncertainty

Mariah dealt with postpartum depression and separation anxiety and now seems to be adjusting to the fact that she gave her child to Chance and Abby. Just as she is beginning to settle down, enter Devon stage right with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) assisting him in trying to obtain parental rights to Dominic.

Many Y&R viewers are troubled that Devon is tgaking this action and say he should honor his contract. When this child grows up and finds out all of the controversy and uncertainty surrounding his birth he will certainly have some emotional issues. His biological paternal great grandmother was Katherine Chancellor (Jeannie Cooper), his adoptive grandpa is Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), his adoptive paternal grandma is Jill Atkinson (Jess Walton) and his adopted great uncle is Jack Abbott.

All of them have been power players in Genoa City and at times at odds with one another. There is also the fact that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is in fact Dominic's maternal grandmother but has no claim to him while Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) who has no blood ties to the boy is legally his grandmother.

This makes for some interesting storylines down the road once the legalities of the adoption have been sorted out. Some spoilers are teasing that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) might take on the case and represent Abby and Chance against Devon and Amanda in court. This would be pretty dramatic and also boost ratings. By the time everything is over there will be friendships that are torn apart and lives that will never be the same.

Rainn and River Ware facts

There are no details related to the Ware twins available that would allow Y&R fans to get to know a bit about them. The names of their parents and where they are from are not known. Considering their names are Rainn and River it's safe to say their mother and father are pretty young as these are not traditional names from past generations.

It would be fun to know how many children were brought in by parents to try out for the role before the Ware twins were chosen. The babies look Caucasian and this was an issue for some fans who said that with Devon as their dad they should have more color. Since Devon is biracial and Mariah is white the children should look white as they do.

Later on The Young and the Restless could consider a biracial child with a bit more color but using a dark-complexioned black baby would not be realistic. Be on the lookout for updates related to the Ware twins as well as Dominic's custody battle as information becomes available.
