The Young and the Restless: Kyle returns to chaos in Genoa City

Michael Mealor returns to The Young and the Restless

Spoilers for The Young and the Restless have confirmed that Michael Mealor is returning as Kyle Abbott and that he will have to make a big decision. This could be whether or not to return to Genoa City and or if he should give his not-so-dead mom a chance. A casting call went out for a replacement for Hunter King as Summer Newman but no updates have come forth.

Kyle will more than likely leave Italy once he finds out about all the chaos in his hometown and how it is affecting his father. He must be told that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is alive and well and has been in LA manipulating Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his grandaughter Allie (Kelsie Wang) who is Kyle's niece. Kyle's older brother Keemo Volin (Phillip Moon) recently died so there is a lot of news he has to process.

The Young and the Restless fans are excited that Mealor will return less than a year after he first departed. The actor mentioned during a podcast that he did not have a lot of money saved after he did not renew his Y&R contract and he had to pay for his apartment. His not being snapped up for another job is a big gain for Y&R fans.

Diane Jenkins causes a rift in Genoa City

Diane's return is shocking and there is so much more to her story. Spoilers that next week she will get into it with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and this will be must-see TV. The two women who care the most about Jack come face to face and one is as devious as the other.

Jack told Diane that no one was going to forgive her for lying about being dead and this includes her son. Kyle will have to accept that his mother allowed him to grow up into manhood without her and this will be difficult for him to deal with. Diane's agenda is not yet clear except for the fact that she wants Jack. Viewers cannot believe she thought all would be forgiven simply because she led him to Allie.

Once Diane hits Genoa City Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) will be shocked because for all these years she thought she had murdered her. Victor Newman will also be upset to find his former wife has pulled off this massive fraud. It will be interesting to watch how everyone reacts to the news especially, Traci Abbott, (Beth Maitland), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and especially Kyle.

Kyle needs Summer by his side

Y&R fans are hoping that Kyle will not remain alone and that his relationship with his wife will survive this situation. Hunter King is working on a movie and will not be returning as Summer so hopefully once Kyle arrives in Genoa City his wife will not be far behind. There will have to be an explanation for why Summer would give up her dream job in Milan and Kyle's mom showing up does not seem like it would be that huge.

A dead mother alive and on the loose, a distraught father, a new niece, and a deceased sibling are a lot for Kyle to take in at once. Be on the lookout for updates as they become available regarding what happens when Kyle is told about his mother. Make sure to watch for breaking news related to who will be in the role of Summer. Mealor is said to be on contract so he definitely will not be doing long-term video chats and will actually return to Genoa City.
