"The Why Files": A Show for Those Who Love Science, the Weird, and the Unexplained

Do you love a good mystery? Do you enjoy stories about the unexplained, urban legends, and the paranormal? What about conspiracy theories? The kind that keep you up at night and leave you pondering the truth?

I’d like to talk about and recommend a TV series I’ve been watching lately and have been enjoying very much. If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then you might enjoy watching The Why Files!

The Why Files

I discovered this gem of a series by accident one fateful evening while browsing YouTube. As I was browsing, I stumbled upon an episode of The Why Files, decided to see what it was about, and now I've been watching it ever since!

Debuting in 2020 and ongoing, The Why Files hosted by A.J. Gentile and his cohost, sidekick Heckle Fish, is a YouTube video podcast, and TV series that takes an in-depth look into some of the world’s wildest conspiracy theories, legends, and mysteries.

There's a wide variety of topics covered including but not limited to time travel conspiracies, secret societies, cryptids and other paranormal mysteries, unexplained disappearances, UFO sightings, and ancient mysteries. Who or what really did build the pyramids by the way?

The series mixes detailed analysis and research to uncover the truth behind these mysteries with bits of humor throughout.

Host A.J. Gentile’s storytelling and narration easily captures my attention and keeps me engaged throughout each episode.

And it is Heckle Fish that really brings the humor and fun to the show! I’ll admit when I first started watching this series, Heckle Fish kind of grated on me.

What’s up with that annoying goldfish? Won’t he shut up?

After just a few episodes, Heckle Fish and his sarcastic and snide humor really grew on me and now this show wouldn’t be the same without him! Trust me, give The Why Files a watch and he'll probably grow on you too.

One thing in particular that I enjoy about The Why Files is how they (usually) debunk the theories at the end of each episode. I say usually because there have been some cases that could only be left unexplained.

The few times in which a case can't be debunked or explained through science and rational gives off a sense of unsettling wonder.

While this might keep most people up at night, I see the inability to explain everything as good thing! It means there is so much that we don't know about our world and how human society was in the past.

It reminds us to always stay curious. To never stop wondering.

We don't have all the answers and will we really?

Covering five seasons so far, there is sure to be more than a few topics, A.J. and Heckle Fish talk about that you’ve always found interesting and want to learn more about.

I don't think I've ever watched an episode of The Why Files that I didn't like. Even the topics that I usually have little interest in, I've found myself fully engaged and ended up watching the whole 45 minutes worth of the episode.

My favorite episodes are ones that talk about time travel conspiracies, the paranormal, and the simulation theory.
