Imagine watching a soccer match with your daughter, only to have the game interrupted by a flash of light and a squad of soldiers appearing out of thin air. ⚽⚔ This is how our story begins for Dan, a former soldier turned high school teacher. The soldiers, led by a determined lieutenant, are not from another country; they're from another time. They've come from the year 2051 with a chilling message: humanity is on the brink of extinction.

They are losing a war against a terrifying alien species known as the White Spikes. With their forces decimated, they've come back to the past to draft us—the people of today—to fight in their war tomorrow.

A Draft to a Future War šŸ“œ

Over the next 12 months, the world unites, sending troops into the future. But the casualties are staggering. Only a quarter of the soldiers who make the jump ever return. Soon, the military runs out of trained personnel and begins drafting civilians.

This is where Dan’s life takes a dramatic turn. He receives a message drafting him into the war. At the military office, he’s told something even more disturbing: he is eligible because records show he dies within the next seven years. This grim fact makes him a "perfect" candidate. Before he can protest, a device is locked onto his arm—a tracker and a one-way ticket to 2051.

Desperate, Dan considers running, but his wife, Emmy, reminds him that an organization capable of time travel can find him anywhere. His only hope is to ask his estranged father, James—a brilliant but anti-government engineer—for help. Dan despises his father, who abandoned their family after returning from the Vietnam War, but he’s out of options.

Ultimately, he says a heartbreaking goodbye to his young daughter, Muri, promising her he will return. šŸ’”

Jumping into Hell šŸ”„

Dan is thrown into a crash course on weapons and first aid alongside other draftees. He meets Charlie, a nervous environmental scientist, and Dorian, a hardened veteran on his third tour of duty. Dorian, like many others, knows this is likely a suicide mission.

Their training is cut short when an alarm blares. The last scientific research center in 2051 is under attack. Without this lab, the war is lost. The recruits are rushed to the "Jumproom," but a system error sends them hurtling through the sky, thousands of feet above the intended drop zone. Many don't survive the fall.

Dan, Charlie, and Dorian are lucky enough to land in a rooftop swimming pool. They look out over a horrifying sight: Miami, a city now in ruins, burning and desolate. Their mission is to rescue the scientists from the lab, but when they arrive, they find everyone dead. Their new objective: retrieve the lab's research on a toxin that could kill the aliens.

Just as they secure the samples, the White Spikes attack. These creatures are fast, ferocious, and seemingly unstoppable. Dorian, having fought them before, yells that they have only two weak spots: the neck and the stomach. In a frantic, explosive escape, only Dan, Charlie, and Dorian from their squad survive.

A Shocking Family Reunion šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘§

At a forward operating base, Dan is summoned to meet the commander of the entire operation. In a stunning twist, he discovers the commander is his own daughter, Muri, now a hardened colonel. She reveals she pulled him into the future for a specific mission: to help her capture a female White Spike. They have developed a toxin that kills the males, but they need a female to create a version that can wipe out the entire species.

On a mission to a White Spike nest, they manage to capture the "Queen" but are ambushed by a horde of males. After a thrilling chase, Dan and Muri escape. It's then that Muri reveals the heartbreaking truth about Dan's future. After returning from the war, he became distant and bitter, eventually divorcing Emmy and abandoning his family—just like his own father had done. He died in a car accident on Muri's 16th birthday.

The revelation shatters Dan. He is destined to become the one thing he hates most.

The Race Against Time ā³

Back at the base, Muri works tirelessly to synthesize the female toxin. But just as she succeeds, the captured Queen awakens and unleashes a deafening scream, summoning the entire horde to the base.

In the ensuing chaos, Dan is given the only sample of the new toxin. As he and Muri fight their way to the helipad, they are cornered. In a desperate attempt to save him, Muri pushes him towards the Jumproom just as a White Spike attacks her. Dan is teleported back to 2022 at the last second, clutching the toxin, forced to leave his daughter behind.

Back in his own time, Dan is told the time portal has been destroyed. The future is cut off. The war is lost.

Changing the Future by Uncovering the Past šŸŒ

Defeated, Dan returns home. But a conversation with his wife sparks an idea. The White Spikes didn’t arrive in 2048; they were already here. He theorizes they crash-landed on Earth centuries ago and were frozen in ice, only to be thawed out by global warming.

He takes a White Spike claw to Charlie, who discovers volcanic ash on it from a Chinese volcano that erupted a thousand years ago. With the help of a volcano-obsessed student, they deduce that the alien ship must be buried under a glacier in Russia.

The government refuses to fund an unsanctioned mission into Russian territory. With no other choice, Dan turns to the one person he knows can help: his father. James, with his unregistered airplane and anti-authoritarian streak, agrees to fly them.

The Final Mission: Erasing the War šŸ’„

Armed with the new toxin, the small team—Dan, his father, Charlie, and Dorian—flies to Russia. They find the crashed alien ship frozen deep within a glacier. Inside, they discover the horrifying truth: the White Spikes are not the pilots. They are bio-engineered weapons, cargo being transported by another, more intelligent alien race.

They begin injecting the sleeping White Spikes with the toxin, but some awaken and attack. In the ensuing battle, Dorian sacrifices himself to blow up the ship, destroying the hive. But one creature escapes: the Queen.

The final battle is a brutal showdown on the frozen landscape. The Queen is relentless, but Dan and his father work together. In a thrilling climax, Dan uses one of the Queen's own spikes against it, and with his father's help, injects the last vial of toxin into the creature, sending it falling to its death.

They have won. The future war has been erased before it ever began. Dan returns home, not as the broken man he was destined to be, but as a hero who saved the world and, in doing so, healed his own family. ā¤ļø
