The Binding Kiss: A Love Story

By Vijay PeriannanPublished 3 years ago 12 min read

It was a typical summer day in the small town of Maplewood. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Natalie was busy working at her family's coffee shop, The Daily Grind. She had always loved working there, but today was different. She had a strange feeling in her chest, like something was about to happen.

As she wiped down the counters, she couldn't help but think about her life. She had just turned 30, and she was starting to feel like time was slipping away from her. All her friends were getting married and having kids, but she was still single.

Natalie sighed and shook her head, trying to push those thoughts out of her mind. She had work to do, and she couldn't let her personal life distract her.

Just then, the door opened, and in walked a tall, handsome man with sandy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He looked around the coffee shop and caught Natalie's eye.

"Hi, can I help you?" she asked, trying to hide her surprise at how handsome he was.

"Yes, I'm looking for a cup of coffee," he said with a smile.

Natalie couldn't help but feel a little flustered as she made his coffee. She tried to focus on her work, but she kept stealing glances at him. As he left the shop, she couldn't help but wonder who he was and why he had such an effect on her.

Natalie had always been a hard worker, and after finishing college, she landed her dream job as an interior designer at a prestigious firm in the city. She worked long hours, pouring her heart and soul into every project she worked on.

But despite her love for her work, Natalie couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing from her life. She longed for someone to share her life with, someone to come home to at the end of a long day.

One day, while on her lunch break, Natalie decided to take a stroll through the park. As she walked, she noticed a group of children playing in the nearby playground. One little boy caught her eye; he was about four years old, with sandy blond hair and bright blue eyes.

Natalie watched as the little boy ran around, laughing and playing with the other children. She felt a sudden pang of longing; she had always dreamed of having children of her own, but at 28 and still single, that dream seemed further and further away.

Lost in thought, Natalie didn't notice the man walking towards her until they almost collided. She looked up to see a tall, handsome man with piercing green eyes.

"I'm sorry," the man said with a smile. "I didn't mean to startle you."

"It's okay," Natalie replied, blushing slightly. "I was lost in thought."

They struck up a conversation, and Natalie soon found herself laughing and chatting with the stranger as if they were old friends. She learned that his name was David, and he was a successful businessman.

As they said goodbye, David handed her his business card and asked if she would like to grab coffee sometime. Natalie couldn't believe it; she had never felt such a strong connection with anyone before.

Over the next few weeks, Natalie and David went on several dates. They talked for hours, laughing and sharing stories about their lives. Natalie felt like she had finally found someone who truly understood her.

But as much as she enjoyed spending time with David, Natalie couldn't help but feel hesitant about getting too close. She had been hurt before, and she didn't want to risk getting her heart broken again.

One day, as they were walking through the park, David stopped and turned to face Natalie.

"Natalie, I know we haven't known each other for very long, but I feel like we have something special," he said, taking her hand. "I want to take things to the next level, but I understand if you're not ready."

Natalie looked into David's eyes, and for the first time, she felt the fear melt away. She knew that she wanted to be with him, no matter what the future held.

"I'm ready," she whispered, leaning in to kiss him.

As their lips met, Natalie felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she had found the missing piece of her life, and she couldn't wait to see where this new journey would take her

Natalie felt like she was walking on air as she made her way back to her apartment after her kiss with David. She felt a sense of joy and happiness that she hadn't felt in a long time. It was like she was finally on the right path in life.

Over the next few weeks, Natalie and David became inseparable. They spent all of their free time together, exploring the city and trying new restaurants. They were both so happy, and Natalie felt like she had finally found her soulmate.

But as much as she loved spending time with David, Natalie couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He seemed distant at times, and she couldn't quite put her finger on why.

One night, as they were sitting on Natalie's couch watching a movie, she mustered up the courage to bring up her concerns.

"David, is everything okay?" she asked, turning to face him.

David sighed and looked away. "Natalie, I have something to tell you," he said, his voice low. "I'm leaving for a business trip tomorrow, and I'm not sure when I'll be back."

Natalie felt her heart sink. "How long will you be gone?" she asked, dreading the answer.

"I'm not sure," David replied, his eyes sad. "It could be a few weeks, or it could be longer."

Natalie felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She knew that she had fallen hard for David, and the thought of him leaving for an unknown amount of time was almost too much to bear.

David must have seen the look on her face, because he quickly pulled her into a tight embrace. "I don't want to leave you, Natalie, but this trip is important," he said, kissing the top of her head. "I promise I'll keep in touch and be back as soon as I can."

Natalie nodded, feeling a sense of sadness wash over her. She knew that she had to be strong, but it was going to be hard to go through this alone.

As David left, Natalie couldn't help but wonder what the future held. She loved him so much, but she wasn't sure if she was ready for the uncertainty that came with dating a businessman. Would he be gone for months on end, leaving her alone and longing for him? Or would he be able to balance his work and his personal life, giving Natalie the love and attention she craved?

Only time would tell, and for now, Natalie could only wait and hope for the best.

The first few days after David left were the hardest for Natalie. She missed him terribly and found herself constantly checking her phone for messages from him.

But as the days turned into weeks, Natalie began to find her own rhythm. She threw herself into her work, taking on extra projects and staying late at the office to keep herself occupied. She also made sure to stay connected with her friends, going out for drinks and dinners to keep her social life active.

Despite her efforts to keep busy, however, Natalie couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness creep in every time she went back to her empty apartment. She missed David's presence, his warmth, and his sense of humor.

One night, as she was scrolling through her phone, she saw that David had sent her a text message. Her heart leapt at the sight of his name.

"Hey, Natalie. I miss you so much. How are you doing?"

Natalie's heart swelled with love as she typed out a response. "I miss you too, David. I'm doing okay. Just keeping busy with work and friends."

David replied almost instantly. "That's good to hear. Listen, I have some time off next week. Would you like to meet me in Paris?"

Natalie's eyes widened at the offer. Paris had always been her dream destination, but she had never had the chance to go. And now, David was offering to take her there?

"Yes, I would love to," she typed back, her heart racing with excitement.

Over the next few days, Natalie counted down the seconds until her trip to Paris. She went shopping for new clothes, read travel guides, and even tried to learn a little bit of French.

Finally, the day of her departure arrived. Natalie arrived at the airport early, her stomach filled with butterflies. As she made her way through security, she saw a familiar figure waiting for her at the gate.

"David!" she cried, running towards him.

David caught her in his arms, spinning her around in a circle. "Welcome to Paris, Natalie," he said, grinning from ear to ear.

Over the next few days, Natalie and David explored the City of Love. They visited the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and the Palace of Versailles. They strolled through the quaint streets of Montmartre, sipping coffee at charming cafes and dining on delicious French cuisine.

Every moment with David felt like a dream come true for Natalie. She couldn't believe that she was actually in Paris, with the man she loved by her side.

On their final night in Paris, David took Natalie to a rooftop restaurant that overlooked the city. As they dined on delicious food and sipped champagne, David reached across the table and took Natalie's hand.

"Natalie, I have something to ask you," he said, his eyes sparkling.

Natalie's heart began to race. Was he going to propose? Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts.

"Will you move in with me when we get back?" David asked, smiling.

Natalie's heart swelled with happiness. This was the moment she had been waiting for, and she knew without a doubt what her answer would be.

"Yes, David. I would love to," she said, her voice shaking with emotion.

David leaned across the table and gave Natalie a soft, tender kiss. In that moment, Natalie knew that she had found the love of her life. Paris had brought them together, and now, they were ready to take on the world as a team.

As Natalie and David settled into their new life together, Natalie couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the future. Living together felt like the natural next step in their relationship, and she couldn't wait to see what other adventures they would embark on together.

David's apartment was spacious and modern, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. Natalie loved how the sunlight filled the space, making it feel warm and inviting.

Over the next few weeks, Natalie and David spent their weekends decorating the apartment, picking out furniture and artwork that reflected their shared taste. They also spent time exploring the neighborhood, trying out new restaurants and cafes, and discovering hidden gems in the city.

But as much as Natalie enjoyed the newness and excitement of their life together, she couldn't help but feel a sense of anxiety bubbling up within her. She had always been fiercely independent, and the idea of relying on someone else for her happiness and security made her nervous.

One night, as Natalie and David were cooking dinner together, Natalie brought up her concerns.

"David, I just wanted to talk to you about something," she said, stirring the pasta.

"What's on your mind?" David asked, turning to face her.

"It's just that...I've always been independent, you know? And living with you and relying on you for my happiness and security, it makes me nervous."

David took a step closer to Natalie and took her hand. "I understand, Natalie. But you have to know that I don't want to control you or your happiness. I want to be your partner, someone who supports and encourages you to be the best version of yourself."

Natalie looked into David's eyes, seeing the honesty and sincerity in his gaze. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, knowing that she had found someone who truly understood her.

Over the next few months, Natalie and David settled into a comfortable routine together. They took turns cooking meals, went on weekend trips to nearby towns, and even signed up for a couples' cooking class.

Natalie felt a sense of contentment and joy in their relationship, but at the same time, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. She had always been passionate about her career, but lately, she had been feeling unfulfilled and stagnant at work.

One day, Natalie was scrolling through job postings online when she came across an opportunity that caught her eye. It was a position at a prestigious marketing firm, and the responsibilities sounded challenging and exciting.

Natalie hesitated for a moment, wondering if she was ready to take the leap and leave her current job. But then she remembered David's words about being her partner, and she knew that he would support her no matter what.

She applied for the job and was thrilled when she received an invitation for an interview. As she prepared for the interview, Natalie felt a sense of nervous excitement. This was her chance to take her career to the next level and pursue her passions.

The day of the interview arrived, and Natalie dressed in her best professional attire. As she made her way to the firm's office, she felt a sense of confidence and determination that she hadn't felt in a long time.

The interview went well, and Natalie felt a sense of elation as she left the office. She called David immediately and shared the good news with him.

"I'm so proud of you, Natalie," David said, his voice filled with pride.

Natalie felt a sense of relief wash over her, knowing that she had David's unwavering support. Whatever the future held, she knew that they were in it together.

Chapter 6

The next few weeks were a whirlwind for Natalie. After a few more rounds of interviews, she was offered the position at the marketing firm. It was a dream come true, and Natalie was overjoyed at the opportunity to work on exciting projects and take her career to the next level.

As she settled into her new job, Natalie couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for David's unwavering support. He had been there for her every step of the way, offering words of encouragement and being her rock when things got tough.

But as much as Natalie loved her job, she also cherished her time with David. They continued to explore the city together, trying out new restaurants and visiting local museums and galleries.

One night, as they sat together on the couch, sipping wine and watching a movie, David turned to Natalie with a serious expression on his face.

"Natalie, there's something I want to talk to you about," he said, taking her hand.

Natalie felt a sense of nervousness wash over her. Was something wrong? Had David changed his mind about their future together?

But then David continued, "I know we've only been living together for a few months, but...I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Natalie. Will you marry me?"

Natalie's heart skipped a beat as she looked into David's eyes, seeing the love and sincerity in his gaze. She felt tears welling up in her eyes as she nodded her head, unable to find the words to express her joy.

David slid a ring onto Natalie's finger, and she gasped at the sight of the sparkling diamond. She threw her arms around him, feeling overcome with emotion.

Over the next few months, Natalie and David planned their wedding together, pouring their hearts and souls into every detail. They chose a small, intimate ceremony in a picturesque garden, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

As Natalie walked down the aisle, she felt a sense of excitement and joy that she had never experienced before. She was about to marry the love of her life, her partner and soulmate.

The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, with Natalie and David exchanging vows that brought tears to everyone's eyes. As they kissed for the first time as a married couple, Natalie felt a sense of completeness and contentment that she had never felt before.

After the ceremony, they held a reception under twinkling lights and danced the night away to their favorite songs. Natalie felt a sense of happiness and love that was indescribable, knowing that she had found her forever with David.

As the night drew to a close, Natalie and David slipped away to their honeymoon suite, where they celebrated their love in the most intimate and passionate way possible. As they lay together, wrapped in each other's arms, Natalie knew that she had found her soulmate in David.

In the years that followed, Natalie and David built a life together filled with love, adventure, and endless possibilities. They traveled the world, pursued their passions, and started a family of their own.

But no matter what the future held, Natalie knew that she would always look back on that binding kiss on the rooftop as the moment when she knew that she had found the one she was meant to spend the rest of her life with.
