There are always rumors regarding soap stars, and usually, the information is not true. However, this time, what is being reported is accurate. Soap Opera Digest has revealed that Steve Burton is taking a hiatus from his role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital.

From the time he returned a few years ago, there have been articles online stating that the soap vet is getting out of his contract and leaving the soap. Burton left General Hospital in 2013 and said he would not return.

He joined the cast of The Young and the Restless, but later, replaced Billy Miller in the role of Jason. Burton was fired in 2020 for not getting the COVID vaccine, and he began portraying Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives.

Steve Burton married his girlfriend, Michelle Lundstrom, in May 2025 after a difficult few years. Previously, his wife was Sheree Gustin, and they had three children.

Guston posted online that she was having a fourth child. Soap fans did nto know she was unfaithful and became pregnant with another man's child. Steve revealed this after fans were congratulating him on having another child on the way. He made certain everyone knew he was not the baby daddy.

There was a nasty custody battle with Michelle accusing the General Hospital actor of being a negligent father to their youngest child. They eventually worked things out, and later she had a fifith child and remarried.

Hr is also invested in Michael's involvement with Willow and Drew's shooting as well as drama at the Quartermaine mansion. Will Jason go to France to get answers about Anna, or could he be kidnapped?
