Shows That Are Overhyped

So no one told you that these shows were so unfunny *clap clap clap clap*

Before I get into this list I just want to say 3 things:

1.No, I do not hate happiness. I realize most of these are sitcoms...

2. I'll try to offer a show that does what they tried to do, but better

3. These are my opinions. You're free to have your own, and I'd like to hear 'em. Do you agree? Do you have shows you think are far too popular

1. FRIENDS-Just didn't perk me up

Now this one actually bothered me when I got older because as a kid I remember it always being on and kind of liking Phoebe, and liking that they hung out in the coffee shop but like some other shows (The Game, The Secret Life of an American Teenager) I knew I'd actually watch and pay attention to it when I was an adult. I vowed that 'd give it a go when I was a bit older. Which is something I don't even get because I was fully invested in other adult shows/sitcoms and had no issue with being entertained. When I became an adult I dedicated time to get into Friends since everyone and their mama saw it.

And well...I found I was even more confused on why this show was a hit. The friends detested each other but not in a Friends From College way where there are like poeple pointing out their freindships dont make sense, and they all kinda know they suck as people and we see this...but in a way where you truly don't get why anyone would like anyone. Maybe that's why. They're society's rejects. They aren't even funny with it. The whole show is so bland and I think people only like(d) it because they were told to/the nostalgia/the whole coffe shop being their spot thing (those shirts are everywhere). I couldn't finish this show, but I know sooo much. Phoebe disappointed me too :/

Why did Rachel get off the plane for him? All I ever saw or heard about him was how he used her, other women, and was just annoying overrall. He just sucked. She did too. But she could've gotten away! A major oppourtunity for him. OF ALL PEOPLE. It just didn't make sense. Yes, it was obvious it was gonnna happen...and they were always gonna be endgame, but it was disappointing.

I'll offer these shows as better: Living Single (you knew it was coming) and Friends From College

2. Brooklyn 99- more like 99 corny jokes

I was introduced this show in college and as my friend sat there laughing and laughing...I sat there with the most confused face ever. Confused because I couldn't tell what universe their jokes would be funny in. I thought it was me. I thought I broke my funny and was becoming some anti happiness person. But no! I watched tons of shows after this horrible night to confirm this. And now I definitely won't try again because of Terry Crews.

This show was corny but not in a good way.

Shows that did it better: Scrubs, any of the clips I saw from The Office (I'm too afraid that show will disappoint me too)

3. Big Mouth-Maybe keep it shut. forever.

Yet another show I was forced to watch in college except this time I was actually peer pressured into it. My friend just so happened to wanna watch Brooklyn 99 and I never saw it, so they put it on because they said I'd enjoy it (I felt so unseen after). But this time, I told my group of friends at the time that I never saw it, and gasps were heard all around the room. They were like, "Well you're about to right now." And I'm like "Nah, I already know I'm not gonna like it from clips I've seen and just I dunno maybe the art style isn't my thing..." They watched me try to get out of it, shook their heads, and I was like "Yeah see, nah." And the ring leader was like "Okay, just one episode" and I'm like..."But---"

"I said ONE episode"

Me thinking there will just be some innuendos, and kids going through it, I said "Fine. I guess one wouldn't hurt. Maybe I'll be wrong."

And I sat my butt down to watch "one" episode that became unfunny one after unfunny one. It was just...weird. It relied too much on crude language and behavior. But mainly, the talking/personified things bothered me (I think either the pillow or the animal- I don't remember). And initially I was like "Oh, at least there's a show that doesn't hide from like puberty stuff and it shows like the horrors of aging y'know, and makes them ok. Because I sure had awkward moments as a kid."

No. No. This show was too much. "Ohhh a sex joke, so funny" every two seconds. It was both not funny in a haha way, and not funny in a "what the heck" way. The voice acting was irritating and I just didn't feel good watching it because it felt gross. And now it's facing major backlash for something, so I had a point maybe.

The thing is:HALF OF MY FRIENDS DIDN'T EVEN LIKE THE SHOW...ACTUALLY MORE THAN HALF...THEY JUST DIDN'T LIKE THAT I NEVER SAW IT. WHAT?

I have funny shows to suggest but n0ne of them follow kids but if you want something that doesn;t shy away from certain jokes: some of Family Guy, I heard Bojack is good...idk, The Boondocks

4. The Game- the game plan is to never watch another ep

Remember when I said I told myself I'd watch it when I got older? Well, I did. And it took thirty years off of my life. I don't believe I saw it all, just what they put on Netflix at the time. But, I remember them announcing the 50th season when I was a kid.

Adult me thoughts: The characters suck. I never rooted for anyone at any time. Not even Melanie...Especially not Melanie because she was whiny. But, I was glad when her and Darwin broke up for the FIRST time because I thought they just didn't fit anymore. She got better at moments when with other guys, or focusing on herself. The romantic relationships felt forced between the characters (just created for plot's sake) and there was barely chemistry between the actors.

Shows that did it better: I don't think I have a show to recommend. I can't think of any I watched.

5. The Big Bang Theory- My theory is people were lying about this show

The guys sucked. They were creepy and it was played up for laughs or tolerated because of them being nerds (intelligent, and unfamiliar with women). I knew what kind of show it was the second we saw Penny, I knew where things were headed. Then, Sheldon snuck in her apartment. And I was like, hmm interesting set up that I would find horrifying. What's gonna ha---then I kinda just stopped watching. But not fully because I did watch some of episodes if it was on and I'd let it play, so I know a little more than just from that episode. I didn't see later seasons (wow they had a long run).

Found out that they did get together (Penny and Leonard). I also watched someone talk about the ending though to see if it ended well at least. It did not.

Also, not funny.

Shows to watch instead: I...I'll try again with this later when I watch shows like this.

Thank you for reading. Peace.
