RIVERDALE is one of Netflix’s most watched shows and this is for a very good reason. It has suspenseful drama, cheeky high school antics and soppy romantic moments! RIVERDALE truly is the whole package. My favourite moments of RIVERDALE is when opposite sides join forces for a better cause, for example, when the south side serpents joined forces with the bulldogs after their long territorial battle to help further the investigation of the black hood or when everyone joined together to mourn beloved jughead when they believed he was dead. Another favourite part of RIVERDALE is the teen romances happening around town. Is Bughead endgame? or will it be Varchie? Or will it even be Barchie? Well all that is yet to be uncovered in a possible modern Romeo and Juliet fashion, what we do know for sure is that there is no limit to how many girls mr Archie andrews can actually fall for.
While season one and two were mostly focused on the persuit of the identity of RIVERDALE’s infamous hooded serial killer, the black hood, the following seasons followed a very different path, one of which even weaved in some supernatural elements as a cult like board game made its way around town and many people were sacrificed due to it. The next season then explored a relatively similar path when one of our most favourite characters, Jughead, transfers to a new school, Stonewall prep, and starts some fairly unique relationships with some fellow class mates. It turns out that Jugheads family is buried deep in the roots of Stonewall prep and the only reason he was invited on a scholarship to the school was so that the head master and a select group of students could kill mr Jones and finish what students before them had started. Unfortunately for them Jughead and his girlfriend Betty Cooper are way too intelligent to fall for such a plan and soon start rivalry with them over this.
In season four, Mr Weatherbee was replaced as the Riverdale High principal as a result of him being abducted by the farm in season 2. He is replaced by a younger, more arrogant, Mr Honey, who the kids soon learn to dispise, most visibly Cheryl, who is outraged by Honey’s plan to shut down the school dance, but she soon gets revenge by dumping a full bee hive on his desk as a crude mockery of his name. Season four ends in a very peculiar way as one of the last episodes is portrayed as one of Jughead’s darker fantasies of killing Mr Honey and mysterious creepy tape recordings start to make their way around town of some of the main characters most traumatic memories. Who is doing this and why? We suspect that the answer will come clear in Riverdales newest season.
From RIVERDALE season five, we jump into the future to when all the kids are grown up and out of high school. I’m sure we can expect to see more footage of a shirtless Archie andrews as he takes in the naval academy and a successful business woman Veronica as she strides to take over her father. Betty will probably become the next biggest detective in the FBI alongside her half brother Charles and her boyfriend Jughead and this may be the end of the road for Choni since it has been made very clear by Toni’s grandma that she does not want her dating a blossom and I’m sure a nagging old lady is sure to put a damper on their relationship but I hope they persevere and stay together because they have both been through so much and they both deserve happiness.
So we will have to wait and see in the verdict of season five but I’m sure that the director of the creepy videotapes will soon fall into the hands of justice when Betty and Jughead tighten their investigation. And what will happen to Falice? Will Alice and FP break up as jelly bean grows to be more mischievous and could Mary andrews new girlfriend be behind the alleged videotapes?
