Ranking Every Season of Friends

It has been 30 years since this show has started, and 20 since it ended. FRIENDS is my favorite sitcom. So with that being said, I wanted to celebrate the show's milestone this year. With a ranking of Every season. While also reliving some fun moments in the process. Which I definitely did, having to think about my order of the seasons! These rankings are just mine, so it's not definitive. Sometimes you have to remind people! so let's take a look.

10. Season 9:

This season is just my least favorite. There are episodes of course that I love.Like the one with Rachel’s other sister,and the one with all the lottery. Which is an all time favorite of mine. Also that episode where Joey has the soap event. But then we have episodes like the one with phoebe’s rats and the one with the male nanny which has kinda aged bad. It’s just a hit and miss season for me and the one I watch the least. And just fyi I actually liked Rachel and Joey, they aren’t why this season ranks the lowest.

9. Season 10:

I might be in the minority here but this season felt more like an early season maybe there we’re trying to go out at top or something. I loved the ending and it was fitting. As much I could have seen another season. Phoebe getting married, that bachelorette party for pheebs and the late thanksgiving episode are some highlights for me. Not really an episode I really hated or wouldn’t watch again. Our friends grew up during this season.

8. Season 6:

This is a funny season for sure, I just like other seasons better. For some reason this is my second least watched season as well. I really love the one that could have been though and the one with the routine, and the one where Ross got high. But this show has the best thanksgiving episodes ever. So I probably shouldn’t count it as a highlight lol.

7. Season Seven

This seasons starts off stronger for me than 6 . It’s just as zany but more fun also. Loved Rachel’s haircut, halfway through the season.and I loved the reveal of her pregnancy at the end as well.Episodes 9-12 are probably the greatest run of any season if the show and are all highlights for me.And the one where they all turn 30 as well. See! There are some really good one this season. I can practically throw a rock and land on a good episode. Monica and Chandler finally tie the knot as well aww the feels! That episode where Ross and Rachel drive Monica’s car and get pulled over I think that’s a good one too!

6. Season Five

And that brings me to season five, where Chandler and Monica make it official. They did a good job of telling their story, without making it a distraction. It mashed well with the story of the season, and the other characters. I never feel like “oh this show is different now because of this relationship”. I Mean one of the best episodes ever came from the reveal of their relationship to everyone (except Ross).The episodes in Vegas were some fun ones too! This is one of my most watched seasons for some reason. I just happen to gravitate towards it when watching. I kinda wish Monica and Chandler got married here lol. But of course Ross and Rachel, makes for a funnier situation.

5. Season Four

Season 4 is so fun and full of gems. Pheobe was pregnant at this time and that made for some great moments.who can forget the one with the embryos and the one with Chandler in a box and the introduction of Emily. Most fans don’t like her but she was there.This season was about of a refresher and the beginning of a new direction the show was going in. Also if I’m being honest this is an underrated season as well. Loved seeing them in London too! I enjoyed seeing the girls in the boys apartment too! And Rachel’s letter at the beach house that Ross fell asleep on. “19 Pages front and back!!” Lol So many funny moments.

4. Season Two

This season proved that this show wasn’t just a fluke and that it was here to stay. Some of the most known moments of the show come from this season.Let’s start with the premiere episode of this season. It’s one of my favorite episodes ever. Jennifer killls it.Everyone returns bringing their A game. But she really impresses here.All the episodes standout this season, and are full of classics. The one with the two birthday parties, and the prom video. The one after the superbowl, the one with Pheobe’s husband, and the with the lesbian wedding I could go on. We learned a lot more about the crew. I feel like everything, is just a step above season one, and it produced more quality.While setting the standard for seasons to come. This is the season, of the famous hair cut too!

3. Season Eight

OK, so I’m gonna go out on a limb here, but I personally think that season eight of Friends is its best season. there was so much story to tell with Rachel being pregnant. Then Chandler and Monica being newlyweds. and Rachel moving in with Joey. It just was firing on all cylinders this season. I Remember diving into this season when I bought the dvd. Because at the time I backed away from the show, for a moment. So a lot of these episodes I didn’t really watch in real time. So years later watching the season, I realized how good it was. and that every episode hit a stride. I was shocked that it was still so fresh, this long in the series. It is no surprise that it was number one this season in ratings. The first 10 episodes alone are solid.

2. Season One

The season that started it all and set the tone. Can’t explain it but it feels like a warm hug, when I watch this season. and it is also the season that made me want to move to New York. lol I really thought when I first started watching this show; they filmed there. The one with the thumb and the one where underdog gets away, the one with blackout. The one with all the poker are all standouts to me. And you knew immediately they were going to put Rachel and Ross together, when they appear on screen. You just felt that’s where they were going; you just didn’t know when. Oh the nostalgia!

1. Season Three

This season is my favorite! It took what made the first couple of seasons good and made it great. I’ve heard fans say that season 2 is the best season or a fan favorite. But I’ve heard that about this season as well.There’s something very lively and colorful about this season. Love we see more of Ross and Rachel as a couple. The flashback episode of when Phoebe and Monica were roommates is a good one. But the “one where no one’s ready” is probably my favorite episode of the show!! It was comedy gold throughout. Monica being obsessed with the message she left on Richard’s answering machine, the hummus incident, and the ornament phoebe wears. The commando stuff and the essence of the chair . The Rachel deciding not to go, you get the picture. The one with the football is also a highlight. The Whole season is a highlight! The BREAK up heard around the century happened, and sparked a lot of opinion.
