Planet Tetros ~ Page 4

Adventurous Spirit!

By TerrencePublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 3 min read

The first thing we did after introductions was to look for food & drinks. After my temporary relief came, a mind-blowing hunger came next. It was easier not to think about my enthusiasm when I didn't know if I would live. They would have something here. They used to be very busy doing who knows what. Excitement rushed all over me as I saw a water flask. It was packed and warm, but I doubt either had any ice magic. I would've drank it all if I didn't stop myself from offering the other half for my rescuer.

He was too busy digging around to notice that I had found something. "Hey!" I yelled to John. He saw that I started to sound like myself. "I found some water. I know you said you had first rights, but I still left you half", I said Sincerely. "Bwohohohoho!" He burst into heavy laughter. "I was serious about me having first rights! I'll let you off because I noticed they didn't take good care of you! "Bwohahahaha !" He continued to laugh … He took a small drink from the flask and returned it. He said, "Drink up ." Then he continued on his search in a different room. He's a cool guy, I suddenly thought to myself.

I also found some rodent jerky in a pouch. It's not very fancy, but it's convenient. It usually tastes plain and dry, other than the seasonings. Today though, it tasted like the finest of meats. Most importantly, I found my custom-made drill after searching the hideout. After being firmly reassured, we decided to relax. He let me know that he was confident that he got them all. He tied them up while they were knocked out and locked them in a room.

He also said that he's a robber that robs bandits. He humbly said he's not a hero and only accidentally saves people. I couldn't help but notice his honesty. I've always been a one-friend type. Today has me thinking that I should open up my circle. I told him I'm usually a loner who tinkers with machines. That I only have one friend who's usually busy being a hunter. He's the opposite of me and will be mad that I didn't bring him. Usually, I don't mention when I get in minor trouble without him. It could be a pride or ego thing. Although this time, the story was too good! I'm not the toughest Tetrian, but I'll be able to laugh about how John saved my butt and laid those slimy outcasts down.

I let him guide most of the conversation because I'd like to think of myself as a great listener. Once he winded down about random bandit stories, I decided to show him my latest tool that I've been obsessed with. It's a very advanced drill by today's standards on our planet. He listened closely with focus. I explained that my powers helped me see how to make it. I told him I was a pro explorer and was kidnapped while searching for treasure. We both agreed that they were probably starving me out for interrogation later. I shuddered at the thought of a reality where he didn't show up. I described how I searched for treasure using leads from the village. After that, we split the finding with the town straight down the middle, 50/50. The same goes for my best friend and other professionals working for the village. Those two are the only occupations that let you earn a living outside the town. I told John, "It's the biggest reason we do it. Our adventurous spirit!"
