My Predictions For 'Avengers: Doomsday'
What Could We Be Getting?

Avengers: Doomsday may not release until December 2026, but it doesn't stop the fans from compiling theory after theory. With a heck of a lot of characters and avenues we could be going down (especially thanks to the inclusion of the multiverse), then the possibilities are endless for where our heroes could go with RDJ's Doctor Doom.
So, what do we think could happen? Let's dive straight into what I personally think could be unfolding in the upcoming blockbuster.
Steve Rogers’ death opens the movie

The inclusion of Chris Evans has been theorised since the movie was announced. Especially after the announcement of Robert Downey Jr's return to the MCU. There's been talk of him coming back as another Steve Rogers, the Human Torch again, or even the villainous Captain Hydra.
But, what if Steve is in fact back as the Steve we already know and love? And what if he is taken away from us again just as quick as he is introduced?
This theory comes down to how big the stakes should be from the very start for Doomsday. Infinity War opened with Thanos killing the majority of the Asgardians, Loki and Heimdall, taking down Thor, and then beating Hulk in the fist fight. We knew from the start that this was a guy that was going to put our Avengers through hell and he meant business. The same really does need to be done with Doom. With access to the multiverse, using Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter is the perfect way to do the same.
There have reportedly been set pictures for Doomsday that have us back at Peggy's home from the closing moments of Avengers: Endgame. Fans will remember that Steve Rogers travelled through time to return the Infinity Stones and then branched off into a new timeline to live out his life with Peggy.
So, where does this theory take us?
What if the movie opens with Steve and Peggy getting a knock at the door, and who is there but Steve's old friend, Tony Stark. He is invited in, they exchange the pleasantries you would expect, and then Steve and Peggy head to the kitchen for whatever reason with Tony remaining sat on the couch. It is then that things suddenly feel eerie as we watch Tony's facial expressions look slightly more sinister. From there, Steve and Peggy return and somehow they begin to pick up on this not being the Tony they know. Then, to shock us all, we get "Tony" taking Steve and Peggy out in an all out battle. That there gives us out stakes to kick off Doom's story.
Why would Doom go through the effort of this? It would obviously depend on his motivations. There has been a theory that Doom sees himself as the hero by wiping out anyone who has caused incursions, with Steve obviously being a big one in starting a new life in the past. Only time will tell if this unfolds to be true but it would definitely give us cool cameos, have us screaming at the screen as we know what is really going on, and let us know that this movie isn't afraid to play around.
Doom is an ally of the Fantastic Four

Doctor Doom is of course the age old enemy of Marvel's first family, as we've seen across the previous movies about the titular heroes. But, what if this time around we're getting something a bit different.
We all saw that Latveria is a recognised nation in the Fantastic Four's universe, and the ruler wasn't present at a UN meeting during the events of the movie, which indicates two things; the Victor Von Doom we'll be dealing with in Doomsday, and he must be a busy bee for us to purposely show him as not being present when he should be.
We then fast forward to the post-credit scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps. Of course, this had us a few years in the future with Franklin Richards a bit older. Just as Sue Storm went to get a knew book to read her son, she returned to find Doom kneeling down in front of him before cutting to black.
Now, this of course indicates that when things (we assume) pick up in Avengers: Doomsday, that The Invisible Woman and Doom will have locked horns. But, what if we actually get the opposite? At least to begin with.
Imagine if we get returned to that scene and get to see it play out, only for Doom to to turn and face Sue, take his hood down, and suddenly she is at ease knowing it is good old Victor Von Doom. That's not to say that the scene won't get violent, as Sue twigs onto Doom looking to take Franklin and use him for his powers. But it would be a fun nod to 2005's Fantastic Four to have the heroic family on good terms with the ruler of Latveria to begin with.
The Void will be revealed as the MCU’s Battleworld

This is probably one everyone is expecting already, but let's dive a little deeper into it.
We've been privvy to The Void since the first season of Loki back in 2021, and we've seen it again as recently as last year's Deadpool & Wolverine. The inclusion of this garbage dump that exists between all of the multiverse has always been used as fun way to bring in different variants of characters that have been thrown out of their universe. But what if it is actually going to play a bigger role in where Avengers: Doomsday is heading?
Battleworld is straight from the Secret Wars comic book storyline. It is the arena on which both heroes and villains of Marvel do battle for the sake of all mankind. Just keep that in mind.
It is a given that Doom is going to be looking for a way to get rid of the meddling Avengers and X-Men that are trying to foil whatever plot he has in mind. So, it would stand to reason that he'll get his hands on the TVA's old technology in order to do this.
It could be that Doom uses the TVA's gadgets to prune all of the heroes in the third act, maybe pruning himself and other villains in the process in order to stop them. They then could wake up somewhere that not many of them recognise. Then then sets the stage for Doom to proclaim what the Void is, but then also call it their "Battleword" where they'll now fight to the death.
I've always thought that The Void seems the perfect place for the MCU's Battleworld. It always worked as a great plot point for Loki, but beyond that it felt like it was going to serve a bigger purpose. With the fact it came back in Deadpool & Wolverine and gave us glimpses of other heroes again, it all but confirmed that this would be what the MCU uses for the end of Doomsday and the story of Secret Wars as Battleworld.
Marvel legends will enter in the movie’s closing moments

Infinity War ended with really pulling the rug from under our feet by killing off half of our heroes and leaving us wondering how they were going to turn things around in the fourth Avengers movie. Many are probably assuming the Russo Brothers need to do the same for Doomsday. However, I do think they're gonna build the hype in a very different way.
I think it should be expected that Avengers: Doomsday will not be about giving us cool Marvel cameos and so on. The movie needs to introduce their version of a new big bad and cater to a lot of characters as it is. I think it's safe to assume that Fox's X-Men cast will be the fun multiverse inclusion for 99% of the movie.
Now, assuming the end of Doomsday does indeed lead us straight into the plot of Secret Wars, then here is what I expect to see and how they bring in some of our favourite Marvel legends.
Blending into the last theory, I think it is safe to say we'll end up in Battleworld with Doom setting the stage for the ultimate hero vs villain showdown. But, what if Doom hints that their trip to Battleworld won't have them arriving alone. The heroes land in Battleworld, feeling a little disorientated. Then, let's say Shang-Chi gets on his feet, turns and gives us a "who the hell are you?" to someone off screen. Everyone else looks, and we're surpised to see the likes of Ben Affleck's Daredevil, or Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider. Maybe even a more expected appearance of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. It then becomes clear that Doom has brought heroes from across the multiverse to the battle ground.
This concept doesn't leave us with an "all is lost" cliffhanger. It is more has us hyped and overjoyed for what we could get in Avengers: Secret Wars. It's building that hype for part two of the story in a very different way than Infinity War does.
Kang won’t appear

There's been a lot of talk about Jonathan Majors' Kang making a small appearance to try and tie up any loose ends for the character and pass the torch of the Multiverse Saga's big bad to Doom. However, it feels very unlikely.
Majors' was cut by Disney very quickly and brutally. They quickly turned their attention to Doctor Doom and changing the trajectory of the MCU's multiverse storyline. With that in mind, it seems near impossible that they would be able to go back to Majors with their tail between their legs for a favour.
Of course, we only get the headlines of the situation. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. The part of ways between Disney and Majors could have been a lot more civil than we're reading into it. Having said that, with how Disney and Feige got rid of Majors immediately after the verdict on his court case around his assault charges, it doesn't seem we'll get another sighting of the hero other than archive footage from his previous appearances in Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
