My Guilty TV Show

My Bingeworthy/Guilty TV show

By Ashley SchroederPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

There are so many options when it comes to picking a show to binge watch. Maybe it's something that a friend tells you about and can't stop talking about. Maybe its previews that you saw on social media.

For me, its something that I share with my dad and something that we have always watched since I was about 2 or 3. For my story its, WWE also know as World Wrestling Entertainment. I have been watching ever since I can remember with my dad and there are times to this day that I will sit and video chat with my dad while we are both watching and we will go back and forth like we used to way back in the late 90's and early 2000's.

This is not something that I advertise to the world that I watch because not everyone likes it or is a fan. However it is my guilty pleasure and I can now go back and watch episodes that maybe I don't quite remember. Its something that I watch when I go to bed and I watched a lot when I was unfortunately diagnosed with COVID-19.

I can vividly remember trying to practice some of the moves on my dad and my sister when she got old enough. My dad would power slam us (gently of course) and we would just have the time of our lives. We would try and tackle him and pretend we were winning and we would try to pin him down for a 3 count. At that time, there was nothing better than that. Looking back on those memories, its something that I will treasure, and hope that one day I can do that with my kids.

I currently just watched the Royal Rumble last night, and it was amazing. I was chatting with some friends regarding it and it was nice to know that there were other people that were watching besides just myself. My parents were also watching and I was video chatting with them. It makes my heart happy that there are more than just myself that are still fans even though with this pandemic its, just not the same without a live audience but its still fun to watch.

While other people are watching Bridgerton and Orange is the New Black, Ive been that lone girl watching grown men and women fight every Monday and Friday for live events and any other time when there is nothing on TV on the WWE Network.

Now that I we have the ability to watch all the way back to the beginning, its give a new perspective on how much has changed since the 80's. Also all the documentaries with rival companies puts into place on how much ratings really do matter when it comes to shows. If the people aren't watching then the show is not going to be successful. There are some true loyal fans that will do anything to make sure their favorite show and superstars still have jobs so they can provide entertainment to them. There are some people that WWE is all they have to look forward to on a weekly basis.

While I know this isn't a popular thing with a lot of people, I do hope that this inspires people, that it does not matter what you watch or how old you tv show is, if it makes you happy then continue on and keep watching! Just because someone doesn't like it, doesn't mean they have to ruin it for you! Keep binge watching those guilty pleasure TV shows until your heart is content!
