My 3 Unpopular Opinions About Film

You probably remember last time when we had a look at my first three unpopular opinions about film and that now I think I'm going to have to apologise to James Cameron. I'm going to be honest though, I don't judge people on what they do or do not like - it's really up to you as to what you enjoy. But these articles are a bit of fun, we can all have a laugh at my expense and I don't have a problem with it.

I think Megan Fox is a very smart woman

Many people have something against Megan Fox and I have no idea what that is. But she has been able to carve a very important and entirely satirical set of tropes for herself from which, she makes millions of dollars. She gets paid for her own sense of satirisation of herself and I think the biggest examples of this is the "Transformers" series. She basically portrays the person that everyone thinks she is and then plays it into something almost comedic. She manages to get everyone else to tell her who they think she is, plays that character, and earns millions. She does not even have to go through the characterisation process. So who is really the dumb one here? I'm going to give you a hint - it isn't Megan Fox.

Stephen King was partially right about Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining"

I think that yes, there was something correct about Stephen King being a bit pissed off about Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of his book "The Shining". In the book, you will recognise that the Torrance family is a happy, loving and kind family, they are just a perfect little family with no sort of problems and nothing is creepy and it's all warm and fuzzy. But in the film, there is something wrong from the very beginning and I think that this is the main thing that Stephen King was upset about. He made the family really nice and warming, whereas Stanley Kubrick just took out that arc completely. I would like to see that arc if anyone wants to put in their opinions to what could have happened instead.

After the first three, I really don't like the later "Rocky" films that much

Rocky I to III are some of the greatest sports films of all time and I love watching them and re-watching them. The are brilliantly written and they are really moving pieces of film. But I think four onwards were just not as good. They weren't really all that great and I didn't find them as moving or dramatic as the first three. I know that there are people that think that they are really good films, but honestly I would say that the first one is the best and then so on, the second one is second best and so forth. But honestly, I would have to put all films from IV to VI in the same group - at the bottom.
