Movie recap: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
"I was born in unusual circumstances." So begins "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"

At the beginning of the film we see Daisy in a serious state of health, she asks her daughter Caroline to read her a diary which tells the story of Benjamin Button, a child born with a rare disease. Benjamin's mother died in childbirth and his father decided to abandon him at Queenie and Mr. Weathers' home, learning that the boy would not live long as his condition was much like that of an 80-year-old. Queenie decided to adopt him. As time went on, Benjamin began to improve and was able to fend for himself.

In 1930 Benjamin met Daisy and fell in love with her. One day in port he met Captain Mike who offered him a job on his ship. After a party with the captain Thomas Button, owner of a button factory, decided to invite Benjamin for a drink and told him that he would like to stop by his house to say hello.
At 17 Benjamin decided to embark on a voyage with Captain Mike and his crew, saying goodbye to his parents and Daisy to whom he promised a postcard of all the places he visits.

Some time later Daisy is a ballet player, she receives all the postcards from Benjamin, for his part Benjamin accepted to serve with Captain Mike in the war of Pearl Harbor, one night the ship observed a submarine and the captain decides to attack it. The ship passed through but Captain Mike was mortally wounded.
After Benjamin is rescued he decides to return home.

One night Mr. Button goes to visit Benjamin and tells him that he is his father, asking him to forgive him for abandoning him and inherits everything before he dies.
Years later, Benjamin receives a message that Daisy has suffered an accident in Paris and will never be able to dance again. Not being able to stand Benjamin seeing her in that state, she asks him to leave, but Benjamin stays with her for a while to take care of her.

In the spring of 1962 Daisy returns to Queenie's house to see Benjamin and they spend the night together. They then buy a house and live together. Daisy becomes pregnant and has a baby girl whom she names after Benjamin's mother, Caroline.

Caroline, surprised, learns that Benjamin was her father, however she keeps reading the diary to find out what happened to him.
Benjamin, worried that he was getting younger and younger and fearing what might happen decides to abandon Daisy and his daughter, leaving them all the money he got from the sale of the factory and his father's house.

The diary ends by indicating that Benjamin was in different places. Daisy tells her daughter that after several years she received a call from child welfare, who told her that they found a boy named Benjamin in a serious state of dementia. While Benjamin was playing the piano Daisy approached him but he did not recognize her. As Benjamin continued to get worse and younger she decided to move into Queenie's house to care for him until 2003 when Benjamin, before dying as a baby, looked at her as if he recognized her for a moment.

Caroline in tears regretted not having known her father and leaves the room for a moment. Daisy alone in the room says goodbye to Benjamin and dies.
