Leveling up by pissing others off

Get it another season!

By BBWPublished 4 years ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Da Wang Rao Ming also known as "Spare Me Great Lord!" takes the whole concept of an emotional vampire to the next level.

Although the webnovel and manhwa have been out for a while (458 chapters wow!) we didn't get to see it's animated adaptation until last year. Of course, as usual, I was late to the party.

Spare Me Great Lord! is the tale of a stingy "metahuman" boy named Lu Shu. Having grown up as an orphan he was completely clueless to his own identity. Luckily, he was born in an era where other humans were born with "superpowers" as well.

He awakens upon coming into contact with this magic firsthand.

Spare Me Great Lord! is that kind of donghua where nothing is going to make sense if you haven't been exposed to wuxia/xianxia and have never heard of the concept of your own spiritual solar system/constellation system/ mental pocket dimension while cultivating.

Lu Shu awakens to his own system, a negative emotion system that gives him money every time he pisses someone off. He can gamble and buy items within his space to sell.

As an orphan, life was hard for him and his younger "sister" but since they had each other life was somewhat bearable, once he finally has his own taste of power everything changed. Our main man makes it his life mission to improve the living conditions of his younger sister and himself by pissing others off.

A deplorable goal yes, but you feel less guilty since the worst of it is towards others that harrass him, and try to take advantage of him since he's presumed ignorant and, done knowingly that they can get away with it since there's no one to protect him. And then there's the monsters and criminals he encounters who of course, you will feel little sympathy for.

Looking forward to that season two!
