Kin Shriner’s General Hospital Hiatus was short lived

The actor's departure was not explained as being temporary and it really does not seem that he has been missing from Port Charles.

Kin Shriner returns to General Hospital

General Hospital spoilers reported in December that Kin Shriner had “wrapped up his time in Port Charles” and fans were stunned. The actor had left and returned to the ABC soap before but this time the wording sounded so final and there was not any explanation. Kin never said this was temporary and perhaps he felt that fans understood his pattern.

On social media, hundreds of Shriner’s followers expressed how saddened they were and no one ever mentioned that this was only short-term. Some viewers began speculating about what would happen with his on-screen romantic partner Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) so the sentiment was most definitely that viewers believed this was final.

Spoilers were reporting that Shriner was history on General Hospital and not one of them even suggested that he would return. Shriner’s last major on-screen moment was when Scott was seated on the peer and as Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) threw Luke Spencer's ( Anthony Geary) ashes over the deck of the Haunted Star they blew in his rival’s face.

Scot Baldwin is back in Port Charles

Scotty was back on Monday, March 28, and talking to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) about her desire to see her grandson Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver). General Hospital viewers will be thankful to see Scott back in action and awaiting scenes between Shriner and Kathleen Gati who portrays Liesl Obrecht. Although it’s been 2 months since Scott has been on screen he has been mentioned several times and now that he has returned his absence seems shorter than it was.

General Hospital fans had thought Baldwin and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy} would be fighting over Obrecht but the Cassadine patriarch seems to have bigger fish to fry. On social media, GH viewers have been expressing how they enjoy the romantic scenes between Scott and Liesel and are hoping the writers will soon have “Sciesl” back in each other’s arms.

Scotty Baldwin all you need to know

The character of Scotty debuted in 1969 on General Hospital and was portrayed by several young actors. Shriner took over, playing the character in 1977, and has come and gone numerous times. He left the role in 1984 and returned from 1989 to 1993. He was back in 1997 and remained until 2004. Scott showed up again from 200 to 2008, and since returning in 2013 he has been a constant presence in Port Charles except for the most recent brief hiatus.

Scott’s first wife was Laura Webber (Genie Francis from 1979–1981, and 2013–2014. His second trip down the aisle was with Susan Moore ( Gail Ramsey) from 1982 to 1983, then he wed Dominique Stanton in 1992 and the union ended in 1993.

Lucy Coe ( Lynn Herring) was Scott's wife for one year (2000–2001) and the two of them have hooked up a few times since then. Scotty also had a long off and on relationship with Bobbie Spencer ( Jackie Zeman) but they never tied the knot.

Scott started out as a pretty good guy but his heart was broken when Laura kicked him to the curb for Luke. Something snapped in him and his personality began to change until he became the cynical man he is today. Scott was also affected by the fact that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) had his daughter Karen Wexler ( Marie Wilson)pole dancing at his seedy nightclub and was responsible for her becoming addicted to drugs. This is why the two men do not get along today.

Spoilers are not projecting anything major for Scott at this time but he seems determined to help aNins obtain her rights as a grandmother. General Hospital viewers are hoping he and Liesl will soon heat up the screen together as only they can. Their devious past lives, shared live for Franco Baldwin ( Roger Howarth) and their love for one another make them the ideal couple so stay tuned.
