Journey into the World of Pirates: Syrup Village Arc
My thoughts watching through One Piece: Possible Spoilers

Episodes 9 to 18: Syrup Village Arc
I was by far the most excited for this arc after watching the live-action and I was disappointed after watching it. So let's talk about it.

Klahadore/Captain Kuro
To be fair I did already know the biggest plot twist in this arc. Klahadore was Captain Kuro of the black cats who had been plotting to kill Kaya and steal her family's wealth.
I thought the story made more sense in the live-action than in the anime. Considering he holds the characteristics of a cat his choice of slowly poisoning Kaya seems like a more thought-out and less risky plan. In the anime, he planned on killing her and having his pirates raid the village to make her murder just look like a casualty, but before then he was going to use his hypnotist to make Kaya sign over her family wealth. Seemed less thought out and sloppy.
The night before the plan is put into place Merry discovers what Klahadore is doing. In the anime, he is just left for dead, but he recovers by the end of the arc. In the live-action, Merry is murdered, and they name the ship in his honor.

Usopp
The whole purpose of this arc is to introduce Usopp. I don't know if I will ever like Usopp but for now, he is my least favorite character. I think he is supposed to be the dramatic comedic relief, in my opinion, he is just annoying.
I will say he is at least better than Zenitsu from Demon Slayer. I do not get the appeal of these characters. Usopp is annoying but it doesn't ruin the story for me, Zenitsu made me want to stop watching the show.
With over 1000 episodes I am hoping he gets some improvement and more to his personality.

In the live-action, the fight between Luffy and Klahadore was one of the best in the show. It was well choreographed and the camera angles made the fight slightly creepy. However, in the anime, I felt it was one of the silliest fights that I have seen so far (I am currently on episode 125)
His crew is useless and there is a lot of yelling without a lot of fighting. The Nyaban Brothers were very dramatic and not great fighters in the anime either.
Maybe I am comparing the two, but I thought the writers of the live-action made this arc the best part of the show. I might have thought differently if I had seen the anime first.

This has been my least favorite arc so far. I understand they needed to give some backstory to Usopp and this didn't ruin the show for me. I was just grateful when this arc ended and I could move on.

My Ultimate Studio Ghibli Film List: Ranking from Best to Worst
I debated on making this ranking. All of the Studio Ghibli films are unique works of art which makes it hard to rank. With 20+ movies released from 1985–2024, different genres, and out-of-this-world stories it makes it impossible not to enjoy at least one Studio Ghibli Film.
This is going to be a long list and I won't be breaking it into parts, so to keep it brief I will just be ranking the movies from my favorite to least favorite and a few thoughts on the film.
Understanding the Horror Aesthetic of Uzumaki: Spiral Into Horror
I can confidently say Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror will be one of the most horrifying anime I will ever watch. I am currently concerned with my mental health because I am enjoying this show way too much.

Yeah, this arc isn’t great. Definitely the second worst arc in the entire show, I’d say. I absolutely agree that the live action did it way better; I actually really enjoyed it there. And don’t worry, Usopp gets much better. He actually gets some great development down the line, so you have that to look forward to! There’s some people who still hate him and think he’s annoying, but I personally love him.
