Inventor of Trademark ™ and Copyright © Symbols Simultaneously Sued for Trademark Infringement and Copyright Violations

Court Does Not Appreciate the Irony

Thomas Frins the recognized pioneer and world leader in the field of symbology for legal applications was sued in federal court last week for both trademark infringement and copyright violations. The suit was brought by Emoticonics Inc., a technology firm that specializes in the development and application of symbolic language. Emoticonics is most well know for inventing the avacado emoji 🍆 which subsequently became the default symbolic representation of the penis in most internet communications.

Legal arguments in each case are highly technical but most agree that the rulings will have far ranging implications for both the legal and publishing industries. The plaintiffs freely admit that Mr. Frins did in fact invent the symbols at issue. However they go on to argue that since he failed to legally trademark the ™ symbol he is in violation of Emoticon Inc.’s trademark on the ™ symbol which was applied for and approved in 2005. Moreover since he has continued to use and promote the use of the copyright © symbol he has violated the copyright protections of Emoticon who published a style guide in 2006 which established copyright protection over the symbol.

No matter the ultimate decision in either suit the average person will still chuckle when they stop for a second to ponder how anyone could be so stupid as to think a ridiculous symbol would stop them from doing whatever they want with anything they find published on the Internet.

THE END.

Author's postscript: Welcome yet again one and all to another edition of sub six hundred word story filler world. The place for fun, adventure, and a whole bunch of words. Words needed to reach Vocal's absurd, stupid, dumb, absolutely mind blastingly ridiculous, six hundred word count minimum for story publication. I am not even going to bother pointing out how I typed out six hundred instead of using the numerals six, zero, and zero, as I normally would because I have done so many of these stupid things by now and everyone who reads my stuff (somewhere in the range of 1-5 people) knows that typing out numbers fully instead of using the numerals is a classic word count filler technique from way back in the day but still very useful today. The little gem of a story above was of the particularly short variety so this stupid section has to go on and on and on. Can you believe I only now just passed four hundred words? Me neither. I am getting sleepy. So very sleepy. And angry, very, very angry. Angry that Voal is wasting my valuable time that could be spent doing something valuable making me sit here and type out this nonsese just to meet some artificial word count rule that makes zero sense. So much six hundred plus word worthless garbage gets published on this website and yet a classic story like the one above is not fit for publication because it is a mere howoever many words it is, not six hundred, not even close. In fact I only just now passed five hundred. Gheesh. Why couldn't they have made it a fiver hundred word count minimum. Then, this torture would have been over by now. Instead it just goes on and on and on. Seemingly without end. Damn you Vocal. Damn you. Wasting my time on this crap when I could be wasting my time on so much other less annoying crap. You owe for this and a stupid five dollar top story consolation prize is not gonna get it done this time. No sir, I demand at least ten dollars. At the very least! Lol! Later nerds.

Both parts are very interesting...and I wonder how true this all is (on both sides).
