General Hospital viewers love Cameron Matthison as Drew Cain
The actor has made the role his own and has great chemistry with other cast members.

Cameron Matthison: His path to Port Charles
When it was first announced that Cameron Matthison would be recast in the role of Andrew Cain on General Hospital many viewers were up in arms. They felt that the ABC soap had not done the right thing by Billy Miller the actor who originated the character. Miller had initially been hired as Jason Morgan after Steve Burton walked away from the role.
Steve said he was done with the show but decided to return after portraying Dillon Macavoy on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless. When Burton returned to GH hehe was Patient 6 and his real identity was not clear. Burton was revealed to be Jason and Miller was recast as his twin brother Drew. Many fans were in agreement but others said this was not fair to Miller.
ABC execs later had Drew presumed dead and Billy was fired which angered a lot of viewers. Later when it was leaked that Cain might still be alive a number of those who watch General Hospital began saying they were hoping Miller would return. Next came the news that Cameron had been hired as an unnamed character on GH and rumors began to fly.
Cameron Matthison takes the high road
Matthison took the high road by not addressing the issue and it was several months before it was confirmed that the soap vet would indeed be portraying Drew. During this time fans were discussing the possibilities of what was coming on General Hospital.
At first, when he was a prisoner under the influence of mind control it was difficult to make an honest assessment of the new Drew. Once Jason and his sibling began working together fans could see the comradery and knew they had a winner.
General Hospital: Fans love the new Drew
Matthison is winning over General Hospital fans who are saying on social media they love his portrayal of Drew. He has fallen in line by exhibiting great chemistry with those who love Andrew Cain. Fans say the bromance with Curtis Ashford ( Donnell Turner), the connection with Carly Corinthos Laura Wright) the bond with Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) all seem so genuine.
While many GH viewers want to see Carly reunite with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) there are others who believe she and Drew would make a good couple. Fans were excited when they almost kissed but nothing more took place.
Drew and Sam are history
General Hospital viewers will probably not see a reunion between Drew and Sam McCall Kelly Monaco) because Sam has said several times that he is her past. There is also the fact that Monaco has been vocal about her disdain over Miller being fired. The two are good friends and Kelly has also said she preferred Miller over Morgan as Jason.
If General Hospital viewers were paying close attention they might have noticed that Monaco seemed a bit cool towards Matthison in their scenes together. This could have been part of the script or a personal issue related to Miller.
Drew Cain's future in Port Charles
Spoilers are not projecting anything specific for Mattheson's character in the coming weeks but as Drew continues to settle into life in Port Charles the drama will surely come. He is working with other town residents to find out what Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) is really up to and trying to reconnect with his daughter.
Some fans are concerned that there is still a possibility that Drew can be reactivated while others believe that his programming is in the past. Be on the lookout for General Hospital updates related to Drew Cain and what comes next for him in Port Charles. Congratulations to Cameron Matthison on his portrayal of this popular character.
