The last episode ended with Thomas Godolkin leaving the basement of the training building and starting his crusade against “lesser” supes. This would have been a good season cliffhanger but I am sure they have more story to pack in here.
Marie now has the badass ability to heal people, even from death. I am going to assume that it is heavily dependent on how they died, if they bleed out it seems like a relatively easy fix for her.
Godolkin also invented compound V, if we didn’t get that before. I might just be a worldbuilding freak but I need so much more information on that. I need to know if there were really no supes before Compound V or if it just unlocks like a mutant gene in certain people. Because otherwise how did we come up with this concept of giving people superpowers? I have questions.
Our group is trying to nurse a very messed up Doug back to health while a newly awakened Godolkin gorges himself on food and Sage.
Godolkin agrees to move in with Sage and she is worried about introducing him to Homelander. So Sage doesn’t actually know about his master plan to kill off the lesser heroes.
Polarity got some kind of closure for Andre and as he remembered his boy they are attacked by Black Noir while they are on their way to the hospital.
Emma wants Marie to leave, to flee from the school. The girls have this really nice moment, Emma gives a great pep talk and we are reminded that these girls' powers and how they use them is directly tied to how they feel about themselves and it's just great writing.
Marie and her healing powers seem to be coming at a pretty steep physical cost.
Godolkin sends a video to the whole school, this freaks Sage out because now Homelander knows and that is inherently dangerous. He basically announces a superhero battle royal.
Lucky for us Thomas Godolkins powers also seem to have a pretty sizable physical drawback.
Jordan breaks up with Marie which is bumming me out pretty hard.
Sage and Godolkin are starting to have some intense tension because this was his plan not their plan. His master plan is to make himself strong enough to control Homelander. He wants to be able to thin the herd on a greater scale, including Homelander. But Homelander is a part of Sage’s plan because she has a certain amount of influence over Homelander.
Black Noir ends up capturing Polarity, Sage comes to visit him seemingly purposefully giving him the chance to escape.
Marie walks right into the lion's den so it is going to be a bloodbath and we are going to see just how powerful she has gotten. And it's a team effort, i love
And unfortunately the story is expected, in the best way. Godolkin does get a hold of Marie, and Polarity is the one that saves the day as the only one that can disrupt Godolkin’s powers. Marie does in fact kill him.
The tensions in this episode are so layered and so well written and built up.
The kids do decide to run, which was the only correct answer, as Sage pointed out Homelander does not like threats to his superiority and Marie is more certainly a threat.
Annabeth decides to stay with her sister, that’s gonna be a great storyline to develop.
My sweet Starlight comes down to get the kids to join up with her and A Train and being as though all of our main characters were captured at the end of the last season of The Boys, these kids are going to be major players in this final season.
