'Everything Everywhere All at Once' is a stir-packed visual film.

Enjoy the life you have. You only get one.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a 2022 film. A middle-aged Chinese immigrant is swept up into an insane adventure. Revisiting the lives she could have led, Evelyn must save the world’s existence by exploring other universes.

Talk about a unique film with a relevant message but decides to tell it in a distinct style. As insane as the film is, this film has a way of staying on your mind. Everything Everywhere All at Once is a stir-packed visual film. Life is all about the decisions we make.

The cast of Everything Everywhere All at Once is extraordinary. Michelle Yeoh deserves all the praise for her impeccable work. Exploring the emotional boundaries of her character, Yeoh also had other unique jobs she’d never done in a film before.

The same goes for Ke Huy Quan. The first time I ever saw him on film was in The Goonies when he was a child. Quan was fantastic. Reverting to a new personality in a span of seconds was impressive to watch. He also did his own fight scenes. All of his award wins have been most deserved thus far.

The family dynamic plays an important theme in what the film is all about. Not so open, Jay (Stephanie Hsu) wants to explore her own life. Evelyn would rather stick to tradition. Listen to the way they speak to one another, sticking to language barriers or the language with which they grew up. The dynamic was heartwarming to watch unfold.

I loved Jamie Lee Curtis in this film! I haven’t seen Curtis in enough comedies. Yeoh and Curtis worked well together.

One can read a lot into what Everything Everything All at Once is about. It’s a hard film to explain when somebody asks you for the synopsis. The film jumps in and out of synapses every second. That’s why I took the time to explore the meaning of the film before writing this review. Life is changing in an instant.

I’ll be honest that some of the time I had no idea what was going on. I was having fun with it though. One moment the characters have hot dogs for fingers and then at the next, we’re looking over this mountaintop with two rocks speaking to each other. You have to see this film for yourself.

Everything Everywhere All at Once deserves as much praise for its incredible visual effects and cunning edits. One 8-second sequence took a year to get right. Dan Kwan, David Scheinert, and seven other filmmakers all did the effects. None of them had any prior training in visual effects! Impressive.

A lot of fight choreography was mastered. Most of the actors pull off their own stunts. Brian Le choreographed (and also appeared) in the film’s fight scenes.

Kwan and Schienert debated every aspect of the film in conversation. I want to watch how this film was made. Sometimes it was a lot with all the crazy cuts to scenes. In fact, Everything Everywhere all at Once is not a film you should watch once. There are so many scenes that you could miss.

Surprisingly, the story was emotional. We only get one life. We spend a lot of time in our minds thinking over scenarios. Be the person you want to be and live in the moment.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is the talk of awards season. A lot goes on in this film but it’s a good time. I highly recommend that you see the film.
