Dune Prophecy

Episode 5

By Alexandrea CallaghanPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Dune Prophecy has been extremely fast paced thus far and they have packed a lot of story in a short amount of time. That said this is the penultimate episode of the series and as far as I know there is no news of there being another season. 6 episode is truly not a lot of time and I am not sure how they are going to wrap all this up in one more episode but here we go.

Well we know Desmond is somewhat vulnerable now, he can't use his creepy murder powers on a large scale without draining himself. He is now in charge of a little army to eradicate the rebels. At this little announcement Ynez storms out, overly finished with her fathers rule.

Introducing a new character in the penultimate episode is certainly a choice, the only reason it kind of works is because she's Constantine's mom. Ynez’s mom clearly hates her, not only because she is a member of the sisterhood.

Jen and Emmeline are at opposing sides again. Jen is asking questions, she is worried for herself and her sisters. She is still the only acolyte who hasn’t had this collective nightmare which puts her on Tula’s radar. Tula decides that she is the only one to help her with Lila.

Since she has been brought back to life Lila is basically in a constant state of this agony. Haunted and tormented by her ancestors. Jen helps her ground herself.

Harrow is such a weeny. But he will do anything to raise the status of his house. He turns on Valya rather quickly, going to Desmond to beg for an inroad. He gives Desmond some information that will help him find the rebels.

Atreides warns Mikaela about Desmond. Instead of fleeing however she stands her ground prepared to fight back.

Jen sits with Lila who clarifies this nightmare for her. Jen realizes that Lila’s body has been taken over by Rochella. When she takes her to Tula she becomes privy to a lot of insider information that the acolytes were never meant to have.

Ah, Harrow is so easy to manipulate. He is caught in between Desmond and Valya. He seems to want to carve out a path for himself but I just don’t think that he has the backbone to actually make it happen.

Franchesca seems to have a lot of influence over the emperor. He clearly still loves her. She uses that to do Valya’s bidding.

The sisterhood is falling apart, students are leaving and Avila finds out that Lila is alive, she doesn’t take it well.

Desmond’s crazy eyes are so terrifying…I really hate it.

Mikaela meets Desmond at the bar where his new little army starts tearing through shit while Atreides finishes setting up their defenses. The soldiers just start dumping canisters of spice. And here's how you know I am too wrapped up in this world, it hurts to watch them waste such a valuable product.

Atreides is hot…literally might just be an Atreides thing. Is that the goal? To make the Atreides men the most attractive in the galaxy?

As Mikaela and the sword master are escaping both Desmond and Atreides realize that she is a sister.

Jen continues to push back against the sisterhood and its leaders. I love her for it. Lila’s death (and resurrection) has emboldened her. She’s never been fully bought into the ideals and values of the sisterhood, anyway.

Mikaela is astonished that Valya doesn’t care about her loss. It seems every aspect of the sisterhood might turn against Valya. Mikaela, Tula, the acolytes, Harrow…no one seems to be truly on Valya’s side anymore.

Constantine finds something that incriminates Atreides. Constantine sets him up to be arrested, well at least someone finally grew some balls. Momma is PISSED and Ynez just looks heartbroken, so she goes to see Atreides.

Momma does have her own agenda that has been clear since the beginning. But now she is fully in league with Desmond, who we now know is an Atreides AND a Harkonnen. So that’s where that bloodline starts.

This show has set up so many things, so what do we still have to wrap up in this last episode? Well Desmond and the Empress are now a team, so that’s a problem. Franchesca and the Emperor are sleeping together, that’s gonna be a thing. The sisters now know that Desmond is an Atreides and a Harkonnen, that is going to have consequences. And Harrow stole something from Desmond and is starting to develop his own agenda, so there is that as well. I think that is a bit too much for one final episode so they are going to have to leave some loose ends that will open the door for another season.
