Days of Our Lives fans are perplexed by the news that Bo and Hope Brady ( Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso) have left Salem again. Steve Johnson ( Stephen Nichols) announced at his retirement party that the iconic couple wanted to join him at the Black Patch Detective Agency, so he decided to keep working.

Now, Bope has exited their hometown to sail around the world. Both Alfonso and Reckell had previously stated they were done with the soap. Bo died of a brain tumor, and Hope eventually moved away. Bo was resurrected and he and Hope reunited. In recent months, Peter Reckell has shared that he would love to return to Salem, but Kristian Alfonso has not discussed her desires.

Steve could use some help keeping Salem safe. Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) has hired him to find the missing Horton family heirloom, so this mystery needs to be solved. DOOL fans know that Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) stole the necklace and sold it. Melinda Trask ( Tina Huang) bought it, then sold it and now no one knows where it is.

Who will locate Julie's necklace?

Days viewers are confident the jewelry will return to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and that she will eventually reconcile with her late husband's grandson and namesake. Who will Steve find to work with him at Black Patch, or will he solve this mystery alone?

Days of Our Lives fans have been on a rollercoaster ride with Bo and Hope as they have left Salem alone and together many times. Bo's death was difficult. The couple has remarried quite a few times and on Wednesday's episode had a private ceremony in the Horton home where no one else was around.

Hope and Bo recommitted to one another and decided to sail off on the Fancy Face again. What does this mean for Black Patch and Julie's necklace? Will finding the Horton family heirloom be Steve's final case before he retires permanently?

Can anyone replace Tom and Alice Horton?

Days of Our Lives did a wonderful tribute to Nichols for his 40 years on the soap. The flashbacks brought fond memories to viewers who have enjoyed Steve and Kayla Brady (Marybeth Evans) together.

On social media, some fans say they are happy Bo and Hope got their happy ending, while others don't see a future for them in Salem at this time. On Wednesday, there were nostalgic moments featuring Tom and Alice Horton, played by MacDonald Carey and Frances Reid.

These actors remained on the soap, and fans grew to love their characters. However, the question now is, who can take their place? Bo and Hope are adventurous, and with John Black (Drake Hogestyn) now laid to rest, he and Marlena Evans, played by Deidre Hall, will no longer be the reigning couple of Salem.

Days of Our Lives is 60

Will Evans and Nichol stay the course and Steve and Kayls become the King and Queen of Salem? This year, November marks the 60th anniversary of Days of Lives. There will probably be some great storylines coming up. It's not known if Alfonso and Reckell will return this year but fans can expect other great adventures in Salem.
