The end of the last episode did a great job of pulling together what the first few episodes set up. Fisk and Matt have stopped trying to be different then what they are and are officially fully leaning in to being the antithesis of each other. Vanessa’s characterization continues to piss me off and now we have Frank Castle introduced.
Hello Kamala Khan’s dad. Cute, he’s so proud of his little girl. I love it.
I love listening to Matt talk about why he is a lawyer that chooses to take on pro bono cases, it's so sweet and it's the same reason he chooses to be a vigilante. He fights for the people of New York, legally and recreationally.
Matt playing up his blindness is the funniest thing in the whole world. “Sorry, what’s going on?”...sir. These bank robbers are working for someone, we just don’t know who yet. Matt Murdock is the hottest hero and I will die on this hill. The way he is talking to this bank robber is so sexy, these men have big guns and he could not care less cause he knows that he can kick all their asses. Ugh. Love him.
Aw the bathroom diversion, perfect. Get them alone so you can fight only one at a time, perfect. Matt Murdock you perfect man. So sorry, this whole episode’s review is me thirsting over Matt Murdock but I mean come on…
“Exactly what kind of a lawyer are you?”...a hot one.
My man is a little out of practice, but he always gets the job done. Who the hell is this lady? And why is she involved at all? Theory is that it was one of the other mob bosses stealing the diamond in order to pay off Fisk.
Matt getting close to the Khan’s is the cutest thing that has ever happened. I would actually kill to see him and Kamala interact. I love him. And returning the diamond into the candy dish is incredible.
What an incredible contained episode. There was nothing outside of the bank except what the cops were doing directly outside of the bank. That is such a hard storytelling device to pull of, especially for crime shows. But damn, it was pretty perfect. The pacing was incredible, the tension was brought not from action scenes but from the anticipation of action which was incredible. And Matthew Murdock reminded us all of why he is the hottest superhero. Charlie Cox I love you.
Okay right into episode 6, we are really continuing where we left off at the end of episode 4 because we spent the entirety of the last episode inside of a bank.
Fisk finds out that Daredevil is back and now he’s salty. Hehehe. I don’t really know how to feel about this therapist chick. I don’t think I like their relationship, maybe they just haven’t spent enough time developing it. Maybe it's because she seems to be the only one who doesn’t know who he really is. Maybe because I don’t think these two actually have any chemistry. Perhaps it's a combo of all three but whatever it is I don’t like it. She doesn’t seem to be adding anything to the story or his character arc, and she’s not enough of a character on her own so she’s really serving no purpose whatsoever. We just dropped the L word but really? I’m not feeling that from either of them.
Oh this kid has crazy eyes. He is definitely the psychopath that was in that little underground torture lab. Bastion is a terrible name. He is super creepy, I hate this.
Oh so we wrote this woman in, gave her no real personality, no character of her own just to make her the damsel in distress. The show's treatment of these women is not going well and it is in fact starting to tank the quality of the overall show. I happen to know that the actors have a lot of influence over the show and what happens in it so I expected a little bit more out of them. They are all kind, sweet men but clearly not ones with enough self awareness to realize why these were bad writing decisions.
