Crown Of Feathers Review

In the Crown of Feathers book, it is about a girl named Veronyka who happens to be an Animage who eventually becomes a Phoenix Rider. During her time living on the run from the group who is called the Council, having discriminated against animages for what had happened 16 years prior in a war that had nothing to do with her, Veronyka's "older" sister Val found 2 eggs containing phoenixes within them and one hatches to only end up bonding with Veronyka. In the end, Veronyka and Val go their separate ways and Veronyka not only meets a guy named Sev on the day that they choose to separate, Veronyka eventually meets Tristan while under the disguise of a young boy named Nyk in order to finally become a proper Phoenix Rider in the end.

However, while Veronyka is trying to earn her right, a person named Sev starts to work along the side of Animages, all the while pretending that he isn't one at the same time around the soldiers he works with. He works mainly with an old lady, in which had originally threatened to let the person in charge know that Sev is an animage in order to get him to spy on the empire and give her all the details on who is on what type of duty.

After reading this book, I have felt that the story, along with the twists and turns that are involved plot wise made me think that this book deserved a well established 5/5 stars for a great start into the book series. The author herself seems to be very nice and I personally don't see her as problematic in any single way possible. I can honestly vouch that this book is a great page turner from beginning to end and I have already recommended it to quite a few people that I work with. I hope to read some more books from Nicki Pau Preto and see where her work will take her in the very near future!

The Crown of Feathers is the first book of currently a series and I also have the 2nd book, which is called Heart of Flames, in my possession. I have yet to dwell on that book but I do hope that the 2nd installment of the series is going to feel the same way that Crown of Feathers did and thus intrigue me just as much, if not even more than the first book did for me upon reading it. Will there be plot twists? Will there be death defying stunts? Will some characters die as part of an event that even I don't know about? The only thing I know for sure is to make sure to read Heart of Flame as soon as I possibly can.

I wasn't able to get any sort of info from Ms. Pau Preto at the time and even though she is nice from the small exchange of tweets both her and I shared, it didn't seem as though she would reveal anything of the sort at the moment about the series as a whole and whether or not there would be more books that will correlate to the entire Crown of Feathers trilogy/series. The reason I say trilogy/series is because even I don't know whether or not it will be just a 3 book story or not. I guess the only thing I can really do is just cross my fingers and hope to see something that will be just as enticing for everyone who already read such an intriguing and great book for readers as a whole.
