Bite me, not that hard!
A notable digression from your everyday life, let me explain my guilty love of Buffy the vampire slayer.

As much as I love a good show, I'd say I don't laze around watching TV all day. However, after dinner, a Friday night, or a rainy, it's these moments that entrap me into watching something advertised on Netflix or Stan. We had just finished watching some German show on Netflix when my boyfriend mentioned it. I couldn't believe it. He is the only person I know who is deeply passionate about films, scriptwriting, play, cinematography, etc... To hear him utter the words "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" sent me laughing and snorting. Looking at the trailer even confirmed my expectations. Firstly, from the terrible effects of the vampires and werewolves; to the cliché 90s high school girl drama. I knew it would only last one episode. Amazingly, after a couple of seasons in, and we both found ourselves laughing heartedly at the stupid jokes, and I was genuinely interested in Buffy's backstory. Did a mention a young David Boreanaz??!!
Buffy Summers

Strange and unrealistic things happen in Buffy's life, and no one seems to notice; at the start. We meet her after she has moved to Sunnydale (the hell mouth). Prior, she burnt down her school and somehow wasn't charged for any form of arson? Her single mum, who is an exotic ancient art collector, manages to own a lovely suburban home in the best part of Sunnydale. She doesn't catch wind of what Buffy's destiny is until a few seasons in, and she probably wondered why there were wooden stakes, garlic, and holy water stashed in Buffy's backpack. Buffy wears the typical hair clip, skirts, and heeled boots to fight the vampires. Not to mention her love interest at 15 is a 300-year-old vampire who has been stalking her since she was 14, but it's David Boreanaz. Although Buffy isn't the brightest book of the bunch, what matters is that Buffy is headstrong and exact. She is bubbly, outgoing, and in time she accepts her role and destiny dutifully.
Rupert Giles

The show just wouldn't be what it is without Giles. He is nerdy, cute, and BRITISH. That accent, compared to the American slang, is a song to my ears. He is known as a Watcher, and he too is chosen to watch over Buffy; it is his destiny. His undercover job is the librarian at the school, so he can keep a closer eye on buffy, the character fits so well amongst the others. Wherever the gang is, he'll surely be there or in the library.
Xander Harris

He's a bit dory, a bit of a douche, has a soft heart for those he cares about, and has a crush on every new hot girl he sees, and it will be the death of almost. Apart from turning into a semi hyena and eating a live baby piglet and his principal, Xander is a badass who looks out for the gang, especially his best friend, Willow. His dumb jokes always seem to happen at the worst times and even surprise Giles. Apart from getting involved with women who turn out to be mummies or human eating insects, he makes up for it in other ways.
Willow Rosenburg

She's got the looks, the brain, and the heart. But sometimes in question her social skills, oh well, we've all been there. She does homework in her sleep, replaces her dead teacher, and teaches senior computer classes while rocking neat red hair. Oh, and her boyfriend is in a band and a werewolf, so she is a groupie too.
When someone asks me what shows I like, Buffy the Vampire Slayer isn't the first one I'd want to tell them. I think this show is something special my boyfriend will share together and that's fine by me, it's our secret.
