Bhojpuri has been one of the most popular dialects from which many actors have earned their fame and through which many movies have become blockbusters. The movies are full of music, romance and comedy.
The Bhojpuri Cinema has given us some great Bhojpuri movies too. Whichever movies you like, you will find your favourite among all these brilliant films that are a must-watch for everybody who loves watching Bhojpuri Movies.
When Did Bhojpuri Movies Start
The first Bhojpuri film was Ganga Maiyya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo ("Mother Ganges, I will offer you a yellow sari", 1963). This movie was based on a popular Bhojpuri folk song. The film was directed by Kundan Kumar.
It starred Nirupa Roy and Abhi Bhattacharya in the lead roles. It is based on the legend of "Ganga Maiya", who is said to be an incarnation of Goddess Ganga.
The film had music by Chitragupta and lyrics by Pyare Lal Yadav, Aziz Kashmiri and Kundan Kumar. The singers were Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar, Mahendra Kapoor and Usha Mangeshkar.
The second Bhojpuri film was Panditji Batai Na Biyah Kab Hoi ("Panditji, when will I get married?") released in 1962. In 1964, Phagunwa ke Holi became a big success with more than 100 prints being released in Bihar alone.
The first colour film was Ganga Jamuna Saraswati which became successful at the box office.
For about 20 years from the 1960s to the 1980s, about 200 films were released every year. However, after that, the number of films made per year has declined sharply.
Most of the production companies are based in Mumbai and Varanasi. The industry is supported by small production houses and dedicated artists working in the field.
Bhojpuri films have been very popular among Indian audiences since their inception. Some of the most popular Bhojpuri actors are Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan and Pawan Singh.
Why Bhojpuri Movies are Failing
Bhojpuri movies are in a very bad phase. Filmmakers are making films, but they are not able to recover their investments. The audience is showing interest in Bhojpuri films, but filmmakers and producers are unable to make good films.
The Bhojpuri film industry has gone through a lot of changes in the past few years. Nowadays, there is a battle between big-budget films and low budget films. The budget of the film is no longer less than 10 crores, which was earlier 2-3 crores.
The amount of investment in these films has increased, but the recovery of the investment is still a major concern for filmmakers and producers. There have been many reasons why their films are failing to recover their investments.
If we look at the history of Bhojpuri cinema, we will find that the Bhojpuri film industry was once called "Bollywood of Bihar", but now it is facing losses every day.
Why Bhojpuri Movies Have Many Songs
Bhojpuri movies have many songs because they are made to cater to a regional audience. The songs have various meanings and can be interpreted differently by different people.
They also have different ways of performing the songs, which is why there are so many of them. As Bhojpuri becomes more popular, we see more and more of these songs appear on TV shows and in the media.
The reason why there are so many Bhojpuri songs is that it has become very popular in recent years. There were only a handful of movies made before the 2000s, but since then it has grown exponentially.
The reason why this happened was that people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar moved to the cities to earn money and they brought along their culture with them.
As they lived together in one place, they started making movies that reflected their culture and values, which resulted in more Bhojpuri cinema being produced than any other language cinema in India today!
In conclusion, I would say that Bhojpuri movies have many songs because it's a regional audience type of film. It has become very popular for its ability to appeal across regions and cultures, as well as its unique way of portraying stories through music."
