A Spoiler-Free Review of 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Avengers: Infinity War. This movie is what MCU fans have been waiting for for ten whole years. Ever since the introduction of the MCU with Iron Man in 2008, fans have been waiting for this kind of a crossover. The expectations have been pretty high and the movie has delivered on what fans have wanted for years.
The biggest highlight in all of the twists and turns in the movie would be the constant appearance of the mad titan, Thanos. Josh Brolin, even with the use of just his voice puts some terrifying chills up our backs with his evil sort of seriousness and desperation. Chris Hemsworth, in my opinion, provides his best performance of Thor yet. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron man proves another story. His performance provides fans with a drastic turn from the funny, casual, and playboyish persona fans are accustomed to, giving one of the greatest performances of Iron Man to date. The rest of the cast shines through brilliantly as well, even with a slightly lower screen time than we are accustomed to.
Moving on from the acting, the movie itself is fantastic. With a great story line and equally great directing and awesome editing, the movie really shines bright with providing ample screen time for all our beloved characters, even with the huge number by dividing them into separate groups in different locations with each group having their stories and a straight line connecting the sub-stories, making it even more exciting. The end of the movie is quite possibly the best ending in an MCU film for me. It goes dramatically and ultimately ends in a cliff hanger, which paves the way for even more Avengers goodness and action in Avengers 4.
Another one of the awesome and jaw-dropping parts of the film is the twists we received. Sure, we were expecting major stuff to go down, but Infinity War shattered those expectations. Unlike a traditional twisty kind of movie where the twists take place in the end (Infinity War delivers on that too), in Infinity War, we see these turns scattered throughout, with the return of a characters thought to be dead, the completely great way of introducing the ACTUAL location of the soul stone, and character deaths.
The best part of the movie to me, however, was how each character displays their emotions in unique ways in reaction to the events. It gives the feel of each character having their own mini story. This allows all the characters to really shine through, even with the huge number of characters involved. A little more screen time for T'challa would be appreciated though. The aftermath of Black Panther left me wanting more of him and shuri.
All of this goodness has been sprinkled with bits of uncanny humour everywhere, making it even better and impressive with all the seriousness involved, sometimes even being slightly stupid. You're in a war, for god's sake! But even with this, I think the humour added to the movie makes it all the more better, and quite possibly helps the viewer cope with the sadness of death of beloved characters. Personally I felt that, anyway.
But even with this much praise, there still comes a few negatives. The character deaths were definitely expected in Infinity War, no doubt about that, and we certainly did see some of our beloved characters die and create an impact among the audience. There wasn't much impact of grief, I think, to the surrounding characters, except to the people really close to that death. The sadness didn't echo to the other characters. I mean sure, no time to mourn and all, but in the fight to Thanos, there would have been much more vibrancy and emotion had that impact been more. Other than this, there is just a minor want from me to connect the different teams divided much more than already done, which I think would actually provide a better storyline.
Overall, this is a movie that delivers or even breaks fans expectations with an amazing thrill ride with a hint of witty humour, leaving fans wanting for more. The fans are now waiting for Avengers 4.
