A random three-peat of X-Men movies

Spoilers abound

22JUN2021; 2305, TUE

Well, it's Taco TUE again as well as another Buddy Check 22nd; for the 22 Vets a day that couldn't live with their invisible scars anymore. On a spur of the moment tip, I decided to have another movie marathon, while waiting on the VA (or Dept of Veterans Affairs) to finally call me back about a new therapist.

They surprisingly committed to giving me a buzz by COB (Close Of Biz) tomorrow. Not necessarily holding my breath; tho, that's neither here nor there.

Let's discuss Mr. Hugh "Super Hunk" Jackman himself, in the spirit of Pride Month of course. There was his extremely enviable physique in each of the phenomenally put together films that I just watched, of course.

Now I see why the Homie from my very first rodeo was/is so infatuated with his unbelievably handsome self. Her and I were never able to have the date that we planned at the last minute, all those years ago; however, I have a sneaky suspicion that if I were Hugh...

Seriously tho, I'm most def grateful for my Disney+ sub (subscription) because of the franchise. Also, I'm praying that the two most recent X-men movies are added to the streaming platform, for our viewing pleasure, prior to the so-called "Great Reset", which is essentially right around the corner according to an expert or two.

While you're at it, Disney execs, if you're reading this: a Brotha would love to see the last two Deadpool movies too. Speaking of which tho, Ryan Reynolds did the damn thing in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, of '09.

One bone to pick with the executive producers (who supposedly have the most sway on what we get to view on our screens): A bit much with the death and destruction, if I may. Yeah, it was cool watching Magneto and Jean Grey rebuild Prof. X's school at the end of the Apocalypse movie (the most recent installment on the streaming platform); but I couldn't forget about Magneto's family, which was stripped from him, nor Jean's two previous deaths in the film franchise.

Another couple silver linings in the clouds: Seeing the sheer grit and determination of the heroes paying off in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. In addition, the teamwork and "Personal Courage", as we called it in the Army, certainly "Made the dream work."

Back to the downsides tho: Did one of the only Black, male supporting characters have to face such a grisly fate? "Cmon, son!"- Ed Lover (RIP).

I mean, yeah: Y'all gave us 2018's Black Panther (Rest In Power, also, Chadwick Boseman), Marvel. Conversely, he too was temporarily taken from us in '18's Infinity War.

I wanna live in a world where Boseman defeated cancer so as to continue to really and truly inspire Black youth to excel. I digress.

On the topic of "Sustained's", as we referred to them during our After Action Reviews (AARs): It was a special blessing seeing the late, great Stan Lee (Rest In Peace) and his beloved/infamous cameos. I seriously hate to imagine a world where we were never graced with his very pertinent, as well as powerfully positive presence.

Now for more "Improves". I'm sincerely hoping and praying that there's not a third death of the renowned Jean Grey in 2019's Dark Phoenix.

With all seriousness, Marvel: If that's what I have to look forward to, then I need y'all to do better. I will legit think about considering the start of a petition to throw away the entire franchise.

Random: Shout out to the big Homie that decided to allow us to skip directly to the hidden scenes of the credits, whoever he/she is. On the real: Good looking out, Famo.

Well, it's half past midnight and I still wanna proofread this a time or two tonight before submitting it for approval. The note that I wish to end on: Be like Professor Charles Xavier and his highly honorable prodigious pupils/marvelous mentees, if you can at all.

Prayerfully, someone somewhere gets something pertinent (re: useful) from this post. If that somebody's you, then please think about considering a Like/Tip/Share, and/or check out some of my other posts.

TIA (Thanks In Advance). Peaceful Tidings.
