March 2025 brings an exciting lineup of new movies to Paramount Plus, including several critically acclaimed titles. While it may not be the top streaming service for everyone, it still offers plenty of great content to enjoy.

After going through this month’s releases, I’ve picked five standout films—all earning an impressive 90% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes. While ratings aren’t everything, they do suggest these movies are worth watching.

Among the highlights are a fresh take on a serial killer thriller, a gripping sci-fi film starring Alicia Vikander and Oscar Isaac, and a visually stunning dark fantasy from Guillermo Del Toro.

Here are the five best new movies to watch on Paramount Plus in March 2025.

'Strange Darling' (2024)

The less you know about Strange Darling before watching, the better. But if you need a little nudge, here’s the hook: a one-night stand takes a deadly turn when a serial killer makes a critical mistake.

This thriller flips the classic cat-and-mouse dynamic on its head, with a unique non-linear storyline that keeps you guessing until the very end.

With standout performances from Reacher star Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner, this Tarantino-style thrill ride is as intense as it is unpredictable.

'Continue' (2024)

Continue is a deeply personal film from Nadine Crocker, who wrote, directed, and stars in this powerful drama about mental health struggles.

Based on her own experiences, Crocker plays Dean, a woman battling depression. After surviving a suicide attempt and leaving a mental health facility, she tries to rebuild her life.

With support from former patients and a bold new love interest (Shiloh Fernandez), Dean faces the ups and downs of recovery. Continue offers a raw and honest look at mental health, shedding light on stories rarely seen in Hollywood.

'Edge of Tomorrow' (2014)

Edge of Tomorrow had all the ingredients for a box office hit, but for some reason, it underperformed when it first premiered. Thankfully, this sci-fi thriller has found a second life on streaming, and its latest home is Paramount Plus.

Set in a future where Earth is under attack by powerful aliens, the film follows Major William Cage (Tom Cruise), a reluctant soldier forced into battle. Things take a wild turn when he gets stuck in a time loop, reliving the same deadly day over and over.

Determined to escape, he joins forces with Sergeant Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), a legendary warrior who once had the same ability. Together, they fight to break the loop, defeat the aliens, and save humanity.

'Ex Machina' (2015)

This thought-provoking sci-fi thriller was one of A24's first big hits, making you question what it really means to be human. While Ex Machina might sound like a typical AI-gone-rogue story, it takes unexpected turns.

Directed by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), the film follows Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson), a young programmer chosen by his reclusive CEO (Oscar Isaac) for a top-secret experiment.

His task? To test Ava (Alicia Vikander), an incredibly lifelike AI. But as Caleb interacts with her, he starts questioning not just her intelligence—but the ethics of creating such a machine.

'Pan's Labyrinth' (2006)

One of Guillermo Del Toro’s early masterpieces, Pan’s Labyrinth is a visually stunning yet deeply haunting dark fantasy.

Set in post-Civil War Spain, the story follows 10-year-old Ofelia (Ivana Baquero), who moves with her pregnant mother (Ariadna Gil) to live with her ruthless stepfather, Captain Vidal (Sergi López).

Seeking an escape, she stumbles upon a mysterious labyrinth where an ancient faun (Doug Jones) tells her she’s the reincarnation of a lost princess. But before she can return to her true realm, she must complete three dangerous tasks—each mirroring the brutal world she longs to escape.

Genre: Fantasy/Drama/War
