1000 Babies Web Series Review: Not as good as I expected
In short, in my opinion, this series is a below-average experience and I would just like to say to you all that if you like watching crime investigative dramas and you don't have much experience with this genre, then watch this series for timepass without keeping your expectations too high, otherwise an experienced audience can easily skip this show and yes, this show is not to be watched with family because some scenes in this series are such that you might not want to watch with family.
Hello, Ji how are you all hope you all are well believe it or not Malayalam cinema always does something unique and different I have seen many amazing Malayalam movies I mean everyone can't reach the level of their content but now it is the turn of web series that the first show on Hotstar was The Kerala Files and now other Malayalam show has entered the market named 1000 Babies so will it increase the respect of Malayalam cinema or decrease it, come let's have a little discussion.
Now because of the name of this series 1000 Babies many viewers think it to be something for mature eyes only but listen carefully that 1000 Babies is a Malayalam language suspense thriller web series in which Rehman, Neena Gupta, Sanju and many other actors are in the lead roles
So yes, you can easily watch this series in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali on Disney Plus Hotstar. The series has a total of 7 episodes, with each episode being around 45 to 50 minutes long.
Well, in this show, you will see a police officer who investigates the murder case of a film actor and during the investigation of that murder case, a man is found who is probably a serial killer and he has killed some other people as well. Will the police be able to solve this case or not, to know all this you will have to watch this series.
Now, let me talk about how was my experience of watching this series, see, this series is 90 percent an ordinary crime investigation drama, 90 percent of the time while watching this series it will feel like you are watching an episode of CID, the only difference of 10 percent is that firstly the execution of the story has been kept non-linear in the first half so that an illusion can be created that you are watching a very dark twisted mystery and a young audience will easily get trapped in this illusion, but then from episode 3 onwards it will become an ordinary crime investigation drama, the creators of the show could not maintain that illusion for long.
Secondly, you will get to see a little uniqueness in the motive of the killer and the backstory presented there and all this is just 10 percent of this show i.e. this series is about five hours long and in that, for 4 and a half hours you will get to see an ordinary crime investigation drama in which there is no element of suspense, tension, intensity or thrill, especially for an experienced audience.
Yes, young audiences who have not experienced much about the crime genre can watch this series but let me tell you that this show is a little slow-paced and because of that you will feel the length of the episodes.
The biggest problem with this series is that the creators of this show have completely failed to make us as an audience emotionally invested in the story and the characters.
You will not find any details or emotional depth in the characters. The character development in this series has been kept at the surface level only, which is very disappointing. Plus, I was laughing after watching the ending because the story has been dragged till season 2 by adding a forced twist, which was not needed.
Anyway, I am not going to watch season 2 of this series. The performances of the rest of the actors are decent. The music and production work of the series is good.
