Tomb Raider (2020 Edition)

This year I was going for a modern day trained assassin/Charlie’s Angel look with a bit of sex appeal to it. As I started piecing my costume together earlier this month I knew that their was nothing more sexier than a all black costume especially for the particular look I was going for. I also knew that I was going to need some fun props that would help accessorize my costume, and what’s more bad*** than guns. I ended up purchasing three airsoft guns with a laser to attach from Amazon I spent $40 in total. After receiving those of course I needed gun harnesses so I order a full body harness and two drop leg harnesses to set off the black romper that I ordered from a website called SHEIN official. When it came to the shoes I initially wanted to wear my combat boots to give the costume a more edgy look but once I paired them with the romper I did not like the way it looked.

Something was off I felt like something was missing, so I went through every black shoe in my closet until I found the ones that complimented the fit. I thought to myself my black snakeskin platform booties from Simmi shoes I bought 2 years ago would definitely give my costume the finishing touch it needed. As I continued to wait for my packages to arrive I contemplated on my hair I was not sure if I wanted to go long or short. I eventually chose short because their is nothing more sexier and sassier than a short haircut. I envisioned hairstyles from pixie cuts to every bob hairstyle you can imagine I decided to go with my all time favorite middle part bob hairstyle. Then it was time to determine the color, I wanted something dramatic but fierce.

Black would have been a bit much and red would have thrown the whole look off. I needed something that would brighten up all that black so I went with blonde which actually turned out better than expected. As things started piecing together bit by bit I became excited with the results I was really achieving a look that I had always wanted to achieve and it was actually coming out nicely. Once everything was delivered I could not wait to try them on I was so anxious because of the simple fact I had gained a few pounds since the COVID pandemic I was hoping that everything would fit how I wanted it to. To my surprise the costume fit like a glove as I began to add on the harness accessories things got a tad bit difficult. I constantly had to re-adjust and tighten the straps to each harness so that they would fit perfectly.

The full body harness gave me the most problems it was all twisted and turned inside out I spent more time untwisting it then anything. Once I got everything adjusted the costume was ready to wear I was so ecstatic at how things came together I began hyping myself up in the mirror and pretending as if I was in a real action movie. I was so pleased with my costume I had to take photos and make mini video clips I even went a little further by uploading them to a few of my social media platforms. Even though I thought that they were a little racy, I was a bit skeptical about uploading them due to harsh judgement. But to my surprise my social media family actually liked them I could not have been more satisfied with the ending results.

One of the reasons I don't do the whole cosplay thing. It just seems uber complicated and I don't have the patience to mess around with props.
