The REAL Reason Your Twitch Stream Isn't Growing
There is a lot more to growing on Twitch than just going live.

Ah, Streaming, the dream job of 2020. In a year where technology and entertainment has become evermore so useful than before, everyone wants to pursue a career as a streamer. Who doesn't like the idea of being able to play video games all day as a job? This all sounds nice, and may even sound easy to make possible, but a career in the world of streaming is a lot harder to make possible than you think.
Streaming is a lot more than just clicking go live. It is putting on a show, it is entertaining, and it is a LOT of hard work. Now, some of you may just like to stream as a fun hobby, and do not really care to make a job out of it. This is obviously completely okay, but if you are looking to turn your love for gaming into a career, there is a lot more you have to put into it.
First off, what have you put into yourself? You have to remember, that for this to be a business, you need to put some of your own money into it, and trust me, it will not be cheap. People do not want to go into a stream where the quality is awful and the overlays are poorly made. What kind of impression do you make that will bring upon new viewers? Invest in your setup. This does not mean you need to have the best camera out there, or the most high end computer, but spend a little money on yourself. Nowadays, people are using actual digital cameras as webcams, which can bring an extremely clean and highquality picture to your stream. This makes you stand out from others. Also, what kind of overlays do you have? Do you have just the standard ones that are provided? Or have you found an editor or even tried making them yourself? I highly suggest checking out fiverr.com, where you can hire others for extremely cheap to make all of your overlays and animations.
Now, think about all the times you are scrolling through Twitch. 99% of every streamer looks the same, and when you click on them, 99% are acting the same. A lot of people do not realize that as a streamer, you are also an entertainer. What are you doing on your stream that is setting you apart from others? Do people join your stream and want to stay? Or do they quickly move on to the next streamer waiting to be discovered? Find a gimmick, something that makes you stand out. Use your personality. Show how you are different.
Overall, streaming to make it a career is hard, but it is an adventure. Enjoy every moment of it, and love the community you make. The adventure is the best part, and it is just only beginning for you!
