Ranking 2-D Metroid
Over the last few weeks I have been quickly playing through all the 2-D Metroid games in reverse order of release. Starting with Dread I worked backward through my catalog playing all of the way back to Super Metroid. I have written reviews for each on which I will leave links to throughout if you want to see my thoughts spelled out in detail about each game. Throughout this journey though I was left with one burning question, which is the best? I would never consider my choice to be the definitive one and I am sure the list I am about to post here will be filled with controversy. Just bear in mind that this is my list, not yours. You are entitled to disagree, in fact I encourage you too, no one person should have the say as to what game is best over another. My list is just based on my personal preferences which I will try and explain as I go. So let’s get to it, going in reverse order here is my ranking of 2-D Metroid from Super to Dread.

9 of the Greatest Sega Genesis Games
Risky Woods This side-scrolling platformer released in 1992 was published by Electronic Arts, developed by Zeus software, and produced by Dinamic Software. The gameplay is exciting and fast paced, where you play as the adventurer Rohan. Your mission will be to travel through danger filled woods, menacing monsters, and daunting obstacles in order to free the monks of the lost lands who have been turned to stone. The default weapon in the game is a dagger but you will be able to find a variety of different ones throughout the levels. The gameplay can get quite difficult, and the levels are timed so you do have to circumvent the obstacles and complete the puzzles while under pressure from the clock.

Eight Indie Games That Don't Get Enough Love. Top Story - December 2021.
I am, from top to bottom, an indie snob, the type that doesn't get excited about any game with mainstream popularity. It's been a boom time for independent developers in the world of electronic entertainment, but also a very challenging one. The biggest hurdle for indie devs is discovery - they depend on the press to get noticed at all. That's why it saddens me to see so many "best of" lists featuring the same mega-sellers over and over again. Seriously, Stardew Valley doesn't need the boost.

The 6 Best Video Games for Children
With each passing year, the notion that video games are solely for kids grows more and more strange. Today's best games are for adults, not only in terms of the amount of violence they include but also in terms of their attempts to address important issues. Whether or not they succeed is debatable, but they are attempting. These games have repeatedly demonstrated that there is a genuine adult gaming audience. However, we must never forget that children are an important part of the video game community. After all, so many of us fell in love with video games throughout our childhoods.
