Is It Possible to Play Tarkov Wrong?
(Intro) Video games are designed to provide a very specific gameplay experience. And Tarkov is no different. The goal of EFT is to provide the player the ability to use real world military gear in an environment where they can fight other players, the game itself through AI, survive raids and complete quests to level up and unlock more usable gear for your character. The thirty second loop is cyclical once you get it down and understand the mechanics, maps and gear you are actively using. But something I always think about especially as Tarkov has gotten older with more and more features, is whether it was or still is possible to play Tarkov wrong. The developers have a goal they want you to achieve, and if you deviate from that specific targeted experience, I wonder if they would say that’s technically playing their game wrong. They want us to use lot of different gear, weapons and everything in between to feel as operator as possible while also giving us the highest chance of survival and success. While also struggling along in the process because it just wouldn’t be Tarkov if it was easy. And if a player was to intentionally deprive themselves of those assets, would BSG see that as playing their game wrong? It’s a difficult question to try and explain, but also one I found both profound and interesting because it goes beyond just the scope of EFT. There is an argument that any game from any genre could technically be played wrong, but today I wanted to specifically look at EFT in a vacuum and go over its systems to see if there are or have been ways people have worked against them intentionally. Whether it was to their benefit or determent.

Tarkov Added a Battle Pass in Arena and I Don't Know How to Feel About It
(Intro) Tarkov has introduced its first ever battle pass into Arena and there is a lot more going on here than I initially thought there would be. From new cosmetics for your character, to weapon camos being added, this pass has large implications across not only Arena, but potentially EFT as well. The patch notes are kind of overwhelming with how much information they provide us for not only how the battle pass works, but all the adjustments made to Arena itself. Patch 0.3 for Arena is also huge on its own, without even mentioning the battle pass. The fact they are still so committed to the product is commendable, and honestly, depending on who you are and who you ask, these cosmetics might be what get people to come back and check out the game if they already own it, or might get people to purchase it for the first time. There’s a lot to unpack with this patch, so let’s break it down, go over the notes, the battle pass, and how this is going to potentially effect the rest of the development for both Arena and EFT moving forward.

Call of Duty Warzone Somehow Brought Me Back
(Intro) Call of Duty Warzone has somehow brought me back into playing it, and I don’t know how or why. It’s been six years since the reboot of Modern Warfare, and shortly after its launch, we got this version of a battle royale, Warzone. I remember playing it and being very impressed by how well it functioned, and the new gulag system which allowed you to return to the zone, but you had to fight your way back. It was awesome. And even though I did and still have some personal gripes with a few mechanics and the like, my overall enjoyment when it was new was positive. However, once Warzone started to bleed into future Call of Duty’s and it became this all-encompassing mass of the entire franchise post 2019, it very quickly lost my attention. With each new game, all the old equipment became obsolete, and it was all about the new guns, perks, attachments and everything else. And that is a cycle that has been going on for again, almost six years. But now, with Warzone season three and Verdansk coming back, for some reason I had an inclination to download and try it. And to my surprise, not only does it kind of feel like when it was first released, but it’s fun. Like genuine fun. I’ve spent the last two or three days primarily playing that game if I sit down. And the entire time I’ve been trying to pinpoint what exactly about it feels so good and has rekindled a desire for Warzone. So today, let’s go over season three of Black Ops 6, Warzone in its current state, some of the changes and additions with this version of battle royale, and why I think a lot of people could enjoy this game if they used to play it tons back in the day.
