The atmosphere was positive during warm-ups, but tensions escalated when the players returned to the field in their game attire.The national anthems of both teams were playing when a major brawl erupted among the fans, just 5 minutes before the match was set to begin. Videos circulating on social media depicted a chaotic fistfight involving over 100 fans, with torn shirts, aggressive shoving, kicking, and stomping. The scene resembled something out of a movie, rather than a World Cup qualifier. The altercation did not end there, as Brazilian police officials swiftly intervened.STS, instead of intervening in the altercations, law enforcement personnel targeted the sections filled with Argentinian supporters, using batons and sticks to strike them.
