An early morning fog coats the quiet river that your longboat has been travelling upon; your brothers and sisters row slow and steady, their hearts pounding in their chest. Behind you the sun begins to crest and peak above the horizon. At the controls of the boat, you sit, eyes focused and pressing as best they can into the distance. Your crewmates trust your direction and action as they wait for the signal to row hard and fast towards the castle banks they had scouted the day before.

A Dishonored Salute
The lapping sounds of sea water against the side of the small rowboat are echoing against the damp, moss lined bricks of the bridge you are passing under quietly. The sun is setting fast on the horizon to ready the night for your actions. In the distance you can see the high mounted city of Dunwall and its twinkling lights powered by the whale oil fuels that are being harvested on a daily basis. A whaler ship is passing into the docks just ahead of you with its latest capture mounted and hung above the rear of the ship. If you listen carefully you can hear its kin in the sea around you singing and mourning for the loss.

Why you should play: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Hideo Kojima's acclaimed "Metal Gear Solid" series is one of those ageing, legendary sagas that you've either played and adored (everyone has their favourite of course, and everyone seems to hate at least one of them), or you just haven't gotten around to it; you keep telling your rabid, manic MGS-fan friend that you'll borrow the HD collection from them any day now...when you get some time to play, obviously. But you never do, because nobody has time for this kind of thing anymore. That, and Metal Gear Solid fans have an alarming tendency to devolve into raving, dribbling maniacs when asked simple questions like; "What's your favourite Metal Gear Solid game, and why?"

Insomniac’s Spider-Man Shouldn’t Have Surprised Me
When Insomniac studios revealed they were making a Spider-Man ps4 game I was excited but surprised. I was confident they would make a great game but them making a Spider-man game was something I would have never predicted. In hindsight, thinking about insomniac’s history makes Spider-Man seem like an extension on a lot of concepts they’ve used within their previous works. Specifically my favourite Insomniac series Ratchet & Clank.
