Sims 4: To Mod or not to Mod that, is the question
Once you go cc you never go back

Once upon a time, I turned my nose up at the thought of adding mods to the sims 4, I always thought it would slow down my game and I hated that some of the clothing reminded me of IMVU.
But eventually the idea grew on me for two reasons.
One: I wasn't made of money, I quit my job and can no longer afford the packs and MOST cc is free. Then there are other cc you have to sub to the creator on patreon for 1-5/ 5-10 dollars depending on the creator's plan and your desperation.
Two: The Imvu cc I loathe is called "alpha cc," there are actually creators that make cc designed to resemble the Sims 4 style called "Maxis match." You can find a motherlode of them on pinterest.
I'm telling you now, if it takes me hours just to create a sim, it takes me even more hours shopping online for clothing, accessories, skin blends (they are overlays that makes a sims face look better- *coughs* I mean...different, you'll see examples of them on the faces of the models below) and make up for my sims. These, I feel most comfortable using.
Here's the thing, the Sims 4 no matter how much the fanbase complains about it no one can deny the potential it has. It's the multi-tasking and the push and pull build features that puts it above the older games for me. It will always make going back to an older sims game incredibly jarring. If not drive me insane when watching my sims. Do. One. Thing. At. A. Time. And this is coming from some one who collected Sims 2 packs even when sims 3 was out.
Moving on! The sims 4 is improving, as proud as I am, I have NEEDS. I will gladly uninstall the mods once the sims 4 can catch up to the type of gameplay I've been craving all my life but I don't think they really will because the Sims 4 is a life simulator there will always be so much room that they just will not be able to cover. Thankfully the sims has recently begun to incorporate other modders mods into the game.
I don't know if it's just me but I grew up loving the sims. No other game developers have ever tried creating another game to surpass it, until very recently so you have to understand how suffocating it may feel when it's suppose to be a life simulator game but there are still certain things you can't do.
exhibit A: Little dica's greasy goods stuff pack, find him on patreon!
I think dining out is my favorite pack, but food-wise when building your menu... you're limited, you can unlock items but overall I can't make a Popeyes or a Wendy's? There's no cooked duck for fancy places? No donut shop, or food truck? Cool. Thankfully someone made a burger pack giving us better looking burgers.
Do you like taking pictures of your sims but sometimes miss the shots because they move too quickly? Or perhaps you're trying to film a sims machinima? Trying to write a fan fic? Make look books? A fashion vlog? Let me introduce Andrew's Pose Player Mods and teleport any sim. (https://sims4studio.com/thread/2617/andrews-studio)
With this mod you can take pictures of your sims and even make them dance or do animations like this!
Here are some mods I recommend for all of you who want to try out maxis match cc and some alpha, as some were too tempting to ignore.
Hair:
If you like anime or cutesy things I'd like to introduce you to SimAndy.

And Miiko

Now I will say, I personally find all of Miiko's hairs perfection, but I wouldn't quite say her clothing style completely conforms to maxis match entirely,... it's unique at times, that's the only way I can put it.
Dogsill- coming through with dreamy looking sims.

Greenllamas
You heard me. Green Llamas. If that name isn't cool enough to make you check them out I dunno what else will. Here.

https://greenllamas.tumblr.com/downloads
Green llamas makes a lot of maxis match hair and clothes, that is honestly just everything.
Kumikaya as well, although these days she leans more towards pastels and cutesy clothes.
To find natural hair or protective styles if you're black or make black sims, you may have to jump through some hoops, I've found patreon creators like Okruee, NaevySims, Quirky Introvert cc, simancholy, redheadsims, and aharris00britney to have some interesting finds but you know feel free to fish on your own.

Clothes:
Once again, Kumikaya, greenllamas, ah and Trillyke, I've been addicted to their clothes recently. I wouldn't say their clothes is completely urban but it's summery?

There's also Black Lily, grimcookies, clumsyalien, Solistair's, nucrests (they make a motherlode of men's clothes, I would feature but I don't want to fill this post with too many pics but they have BTS inspired clothes if I recall correctly so check them out!), Mochizen CC, renorasims, Serenity, Arethabee-

Shoes:
For shoes... I'm not even gonna lie. I have a madlen and Jius addiction. Madlen's can be found on patreon and the sims resource. They also make clothing and furniture, but I go more so for their shoes than anything else.

The models are wearing both Madlen shoes and clothing just so you know. I think you will fall in love with a lot of if not all their shoes (and clothes). Madlen items just have a very distinct chic feel (I'm not a fashionista, okay, I am not good at describing). On sims resource you may find that they have enough shoes to open a whole store and start a designer brand but I think it just shows how much the creator has grown and polished their craft. They deserve to be paid for their work so show them some love!
And let's not forget Jius-sims that I briefly mentioned. Jius specializes in shoes, but they also make clothes and other things here and there.

Honestly, the only reason why I don't have all her items is because I'm jobless at the moment and can't subscribe to everyone, but I think all these talented creators really deserve a lot of love. I'm honestly in shock as to why the Sims 4 team hasn't already recruited some of these creators.
Jewelry:
S-club, and Bobur from the sims resource. MURPHY can be found on pinterest, it's jewelry inspired by designer brands like Louis Vutton, Gucci, Channel etc. You can find it on simsdom.com if I'm remembering it correctly.
Then there's Sooddeng, Osoon and Yunseol, all korean or asian sims 4 cc creators similar to Jius. Unlike Jius-sims who can easily be found on patreon, these three are a bit harder to find. Soodeng and Yunseol can be found on naver. And Osoon... You'd have better luck looking them up on pinterest if I'm perfectly honest with you.
Yunseol's content is more like alpha... I know I'm deviating from maxis match but just... look.

Furniture:
I know you want me to shut up now but before I go, one last honorable mention. Another guilty pleasure of mine. Hel Studio is an alpha cc creator... but some of their creations I find it hard to say no to exhibit A:

You have to be a patron in order to get some of the items, last time I check you had to message them in order to get their cc because of theft in the past, but I just noticed today it seems the posts were edited, more things were made public access and the download links were shared. And just in case you're wondering this is why I decided to give this person my money.

The moment I saw this it drove me insane. There are times some items look like mm but sometimes I can't quite tell if it looks alpha or not.
That's all for now. There's still a lot of other content creators that I haven't mentioned or shown pictures of their work. Maybe I'll make another post. Maybe not, I can only hope by the end of this post you understand my dilemma.
