When it comes to a Rockstar, fans know the company's games are worth their weight in gold, which means we're ready to scurry to every corner of the Earth to get our hands on them. One of those places just to happens to be a certain online superstore by the name of Amazon. Late last year the hype began to build for Red Dead Redemption 2 when teaser images began to surface, with the game's release touted for fall 2017.

And it seems the buildup surrounding this open-world Western sequel has now reached a fever pitch. If one were to head on over to #Amazon to preorder Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 4, you may find yourself in for an unwelcome surprise. It's already sold out. Literally. Gone. It's not available. You're not going to get it. And you will be hard-pressed to get your hands on a copy from the retailer anytime soon. What does this mean? It looks like you're going to have to look elsewhere.

When it comes to the crunch, #Rockstar was already onto a winner when it decided to head to the Wild West back in 2004 with this adaptation of its own #GrandTheftAuto franchise. In doing so, the company hit massive pay dirt with its maiden release in the series, Red Dead Revolver, which found massive success thanks to its adventurous backdrop and online components.

The games are famed for their impressive story as well as their photorealism. With #RedDeadRedemption2, fans are excited to once again take to horseback while firing off their Winchester Repeaters and hijacking carriages.

So Where Can You Get A PlayStation 4 Copy?

If you're looking to get your hands on a copy, it looks like you can still rely digital release, or on your friendly neighborhood Best Buy, GameStop, Wal-Mart or preferred independent bricks-and-mortar retailer — but you have to move fast. With no official release date as of yet, we're stuck hoping that June's E3 will gift us with solid information about the highly anticipated title.
