Marvel Rivals Patch Notes

The wait is almost over! NetEase Games has finally pulled back the curtain on the next massive update for its hit superhero shooter. If you’ve been searching for the latest Marvel Rivals patch notes, you’re in the right place. Season 6, titled "Night at the Museum," is officially set to launch on January 16, 2026, and it’s bringing the Merc with a Mouth along for the ride.

From massive hero balance shifts to a mind-bending new character role, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming update.

Marvel Rivals Season 6 Release Date and Maintenance Schedule

Mark your calendars for Friday, January 16, 2026. The update is scheduled to go live at 9:00 AM UTC.

Players should prepare for at least two hours of server downtime while NetEase prepares the "Night at the Museum" content. As a little "thank you" for your patience, the developers are giving away free skins for Magneto and Iron Man to anyone who logs in during the first 24 hours of the launch. Don’t miss out on those freebies!

New Hero Spotlight: Deadpool Abilities and Role

Deadpool isn't just joining the roster; he’s breaking the rules of the game. For the first time in Marvel Rivals history, we are getting a Triple-Role hero.

Deadpool can function as a Duelist, Vanguard, or Strategist, and you can actually swap his role mid-match at the spawn room.

  • Duelist: Focuses on high-speed katana slashes and dual-pistol damage.
  • Vanguard: Uses his incredible healing factor and a "Maximum Effort" defensive stance to soak up damage.
  • Strategist: Believe it or not, Wade can heal allies using a "magical" unicorn plushie that generates shields and team buffs.

All Hero Buffs and Nerfs in the Latest Update

The meta is about to get a serious shake-up. While the full, granular stat changes drop on launch day, the developers have already confirmed several key adjustments aimed at curbing the "Support Meta."

The Buff List (Who’s Getting Stronger?)

  • Hulk: Receiving a health boost and faster leap recovery to help him feel like a true frontline threat.
  • Captain America: His shield-dash cooldown is being reduced, allowing for better mobility.
  • Doctor Strange: Getting a damage increase on his primary fire and a faster "Portal" cast time.
  • Blade & Iron Fist: Both melee Duelists are getting survivability buffs to help them compete with ranged heroes.

The Nerf List (Who’s Getting Scaled Back?)

  • Invisible Woman: Her "Guardian Shield" is seeing a cooldown increase, and her self-healing is being tuned down.
  • Gambit: The healing provided during his Ultimate is being significantly reduced.
  • Angela: Her flight duration is being capped to prevent her from staying airborne indefinitely.
  • Daredevil: His "Fury" generation is being slowed down to keep his burst damage in check.

Marvel Rivals Season 6 Meta Shift: Which Heroes Are Top Tier?

With the nerfs to solo-carry Strategists like Invisible Woman and Gambit, we expect to see a return of "Dive Comps." Characters like Spider-Man and Venom will likely thrive now that defensive shields aren't as oppressive.

Keep an eye on Deadpool—his ability to swap roles mid-game means teams can adapt to enemy strategies without having to switch heroes entirely. This flexibility could make him a "must-pick" in competitive ranks.

New Map: Exploring the Museum of Contemplation

While the season starts on the 16th, the brand-new Convoy map, Museum of Contemplation, officially arrives on January 29. This map is set in a high-tech facility filled with Marvel Easter eggs. It features tight corridors that favor brawlers and wide-open courtyards where snipers like Hawkeye can shine.

Updated Team-Up Abilities and Retired Combos

The "Team-Up" system is evolving. To make room for new synergies, some old ones are being "retired" (temporarily removed).

  • New Combo: Parker Power-Up – Spider-Man and Peni Parker can now combine tech to create a "Web-Bomb" that stuns multiple enemies.
  • New Combo: Toy Box – Deadpool and Jeff the Land Shark unlock a hilarious ability where Jeff can hide in Deadpool’s "toy box" for a mobile healing aura.
  • Retired: The "Ever-Burning Bond" between Human Torch and Spider-Man is leaving the rotation this season.

Hero Proficiency Expansion and New Ranked Rewards

Progression fans, rejoice! Hero Proficiency caps are being raised, and each hero is getting multiple new reward pages. You can now unlock animated Dynamic Avatars and exclusive "Night at the Museum" nameplates. If you reach the Gold rank or higher this season, you'll earn a unique tactical skin for the new map's theme.

Major Bug Fixes and Performance Optimizations

The dev team has addressed several "quality of life" issues:

  • Fixed a bug where Rogue’s "Recall" would occasionally clip her through the floor.
  • Improved UI clarity for the Times Square Photo Mode.
  • Optimized frame rates for console players during heavy "Ultimate" ability visual effects.

What’s Coming in Marvel Rivals Season 6.5?

Looking ahead, NetEase teased that Elsa Bloodstone will join the fight in February. We also expect the "Clobberin' Club" (a dedicated 1v1 duel zone in Times Square) to open its doors on January 29 along with the new map.

Stay tuned for the full, detailed numbers once the servers go live on January 16!
