Leaving Arcane Academy had been the right thing to do, as the people she'd adventured most with were long gone. But... she still couldn't stop the last thought. One person in particular she wished she could see one more time. He'd won her respect even before she'd joined the Academy, had been her mentor, maybe not in the same class of magic but certainly by heart. There had been a time when she'd thought she might be able to be his companion, but it was not to be. So she pushed the sadness, the regret, and the hurt down one more time, knowing that she'd have to keep doing so.

The Black Flag Rises
When it first came to be in 2007, the game Assassin's Creed was a hit, but no one could have guessed how much of a hit it would become in time. It became the groundwork for a series that has now graced the world with more than a dozen games that take place throughout the world, and throughout time. Assassin's Creed 2 vastly improved upon not only the success of its first installment, but the game play as well—and it only got better as the story continued. But no matter how the series progresses and evolves, one game in particular has risen to the top of the Assassins world, and remains there to this day: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Though a minority of gamers are female, that minority is a significant one–and growing. There's no denying the facts and statistics. While women make up very little of the user base for sports-based video games like FIFA, their numbers are much more significant in other video game genres, ranging from adventure to fantasy to strategy and beyond. However, the industry still overwhelmingly caters to a male user base. Oftentimes, women are ignored by gaming companies, making some games unfriendly or simply ridiculous to some women. But on the other hand, there are just a handful of video games that are great for girls (and guys), for one reason or another.
